UAB-SMU

Birmingham News

UAB’s recent problems have been well documented. The Blazers (3-5, 2-2 C-USA) are coming off consecutive losses to Rice and Marshall - with both winning for only the second time this season by beating UAB. And the primary problem area in those two games has been a defense that allowed 894 yards and 65 points.

SMU moved the length of the field in 23 seconds last year against UAB.  This was a loss that UAB never recovered from and it is a “circled” game for the Blazers.

Dallas Morning News

SMU is making its biggest national television appearance since appearing on Fox Sports Net twice in 1999.

Bulls-Heat

Associated Press

The Heat begin their defense of the franchise’s first championship when they host the Bulls Tuesday in a rematch of last season’s Eastern Conference first-round playoff series. The Heat ended last season with the second-best record in the East at 52-30, and faced a Chicago squad in the first round that finished with a .500 record. The Bulls, however, played well down the stretch and managed to tie the first-round series 2-2 after losing the first two games in Miami. The Heat, though, went on to eliminate Chicago in six games.
