There are five games on the National Hockey League’s schedule for Wednesday, including Minnesota at Anaheim. The Wild dropped to 1-3-0 on the season last time out with a 4-2 loss to the Sharks. Andrew Brunette and Owen Nolan had the Minnesota goals in that game, while Niklas Backstrom made 25 saves. The Ducks are 2-2-1 on the season after getting blanked 3-0 by the Rangers on Sunday. Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped 35 of 37 New York shots in that defeat.
Also on the ice on Wednesday: Pittsburgh at Carolina, Los Angeles at the Rangers, Edmonton at Chicago, and Nashville at Dallas. The Stars fell 4-3 in a shootout to the Canucks in their last game, getting goals from Mike Ribeiro, Jamie Benn, and Brad Richards in regulation time.
