Free Monday Night Pick

Monday Night Football picks are up. However the live odds for the NBA have been very kind to pro bettors.  Well known sports advisor Matt Rivers has an NBA pick tonight. He says take the Jazz at home against the Spurs. SportsBook has the betting line at Utah -2.

The San Antonio Spurs stole Richard Jefferson in the off-season and appeared to be a team that once again could compete for a title. Things started off slow at 4-6, which can happen, and then things seemed to pick up. But then all of a sudden Timmay and the fellas have now dropped back-to-back games (both at home) and are looking fairly sluggish once again. They have also failed to cover in three straight.

I'm sure when all is said and done Greg Popovich' squad will win about 55 games, if not more, but right now these guys are not a dominant force at all.

There may not be a harder arena to play in than Utah, for many factors. Earlier in the season the Jazz had their way with the Spurs at home 113-99 and also a few weeks ago took care of business 90-83 as the five point road dog. This does set up a revenge factor for the visitors but with very little momentum I'm not so sure that San Antonio can travel in this spot and be able to change things from that first meeting.

One can never doubt Duncan, Ginobili, Parker and this San Antonio organization as a whole especially in a near pick-em spot but this season has not gone as planned and that can be said for the two games against these same Jazz as well.

Utah just had an embarrassing loss at Minnesota to the fairly dreadful Timberwolves and more times than not professional teams can bounce back from such an isolated defeat. I can see Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams and the Jazz do just that here as they are ultra focused to improve on their 11-8 record.
