Free Pick: UConn vs. Kentucky

Super capper Matt Rivers has a free pick on Connecticut laying one-point to Kentucky at the Garden. The odds are from BetUs Sportsbook

John Calipari's Kentucky Wildcats have made great strides already in this the coach' first season. John Wall is a total stud and Patrick Patterson is a big boy who can bang with anybody. But with that said I don't see these guys being able to go back-to-back with North Carolina and Connecticut and prevail in both games as that is just asking a bit much.

The Huskies have already played at the Garden a few times this season and will feel comfortable today unlike the young team from Lexington who may take some time getting used to the world's most famous arena.

UCONN throughout the past few seasons seems to have always lost a ton of talent yet always seems to reload very quickly. The cupboard is still very full now with Dyson, Walker, Robinson and Edwards among other blue chip studs and I see a flat out W today.

The Huskies only won by six in that last outing against Jeremy Lin and Harvard but the Crimson are improved and that was the perfect look ahead spot for Calhoun's crew with the Wildcats on deck.

I'm not saying that UK can't win this game because they have become somewhat of an elite program once again. But I don't think they win this game as much as they lose it here in New York and in a small play will back the Huskies as they pull away in the end.
