NFL Free Football Handicappers Pick Week 14

Week 14 NFL betting got off to a great start as most professional sports bettors has Cleveland Brown over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Bettors are checking out the week 14 NFL injury report and the best football spread picks as well as the betting trends report. Now to a free pick from one of the best betting experts.

Matt Rivers says take the New Orleans Saints minus the number against Atlanta. They are laying 10 according to SportsBook. Here is his rationale:

Injuries should play a big part in this game and if both Matt Ryan and Michael Turner along with some banged up offensive linemen return for the Falcons then we may see
Atlanta stay in this game. But Turner has that high ankle sprain which is a terrible injury and I don't see him being able to really do all that much and Ryan was supposed to be out a few weeks with the turf toe meaning that even if he tries to give it a go he cannot be all that right.

On the offensive line both Sam Baker and Harvey Dahl missed last week in that home debacle against the Eagles and with or without them the o line has been far worse than last season. A few games ago Atlanta allowed six sacks against Tampa Bay and to be honest with you, ever since the 4-1 start to the season the Falcons have been nothing better than a bad football team.

New Orleans is obviously the real deal at 12-0 and will come in here firing away offensively on all cylinders. Drew Brees is a man and the possible MVP and his weapons are dangerous against quality defenses no less a poor d with fairly terrible corners that will be missing a starter in Chris Houston. Atlanta does not supply any pass rush at all as John Abraham has been MIA for a while now and the secondary cannot cover me. There may be no worse matchup for that recipe of disaster than against a New Orleans team that seems to score 40 plus points per game.

Last week Chris Redman was fairly inept filling in for Ryan and it's not like the signal caller is young and needed a game under his belt. Redman just is not very good and I don't see anything changing here if given another chance.

I'm not a fool and do fully realize that laying double digits or so on the road in this league is not the key to the mint by any means. But Mike Smith's team has been putrid for the last eight games or so and is in a boatload of trouble once again today.

This game has the potential to finish up in the neighborhood of 40-10 or so therefore I'll take my chances laying the lumber.
