Matt Rivers of OffshoreInsiders.com has a winner for Wednesday is on the Blue Jays +170 at the NY Yankees.
As I write this play the Yankees appear to be a 180 favorite. I can tell you that by gametime this number will be considerably lower, it's just that simple. Phil Hughes has looked better of late but he is still far from the same great hurler who looked like a Cy Young candidate through the first six or so weeks of the season. Meanwhile Shawn Marcum is a guy who is one of the best pitchers in baseball that is given very little credit. Nobody really talks about this guy but he has an immense upside and can dominate at times with the best of them.
Marcum at times is absolutely filthy. There have been some bumps on the road this season and the righty is not a hurler that I would call elite but truly he is not all that far from that level. I can absolutely see Marcum hold his own and then some here against the suddenly struggling Yankees. Arod can't hit anymore and the Bombers just aren't really bombing of late as evidenced by losing the first two in this series and looking pretty bad in the process.
The Blue Jays are obviously well inferior after 162 games but Bautista has been going bonkers and Wells, Hill, Lind and a few others are professional hitters that are no joke. All in all Cito's crew has been a ton better than anybody believed they would be and are going to be competitive and help determine who wins this division down the stretch.
If you ask me who is the better pitcher Hughes or Marcum I would not even hesitate in saying Marcum. So to get Toronto plus a pretty penny is fine with me. They have been the better team so far in this series and really may be so again today.
The pick: Toronto +170 at Bodog
For more information: A piss-poor 0-2 Tuesday, there is no hiding from it and no sugarcoating it. I am the best there is and will atone right here and now. It was a bad call on Carlos Torres and the White Sox as the kid was not ready in those first two innings. But I'm far from scared and going right back to that matchup today from Comerica.
400,000* Chicago-Detroit, 200,000* New York-Atlanta and 100,000* Minnesota-Tampa Bay. I'm at my absolute best when I need to win and today is the epitome of said situation. Please listen to me, for your sake, please. Click now to purchase Matt Rivers at OffshoreInsiders.com
