Matt Rivers has a Saturday winner and it's is on the Cincinnati Reds -105 to the Chicago Cubs.

If I don't have to lay money with the far superior team in the Reds today than I'm all for it.

Edinson Volquez has not been great since returning from the dl but his last start was better allowing just one run in five innings against the Braves and to get one of last season's top three Cy Young candidates against the this current version of the Cubs at this price is a steal.

Lou Pinella is done at the end of the season and his team has been done for a while. The Cubs are just pathetically dreadful and as underachieving as any club in the bigs this season. It's like a disease right now with this team. Just when you think they could be turning the corner they prove how they stink once again. Chicago officially threw in the towel by dealing Lilly and Theriot to the Dodgers and are a flat out bad baseball team right now. Lee, Soriano and Ramirez are still good players but collectively this club is horrendous.

On the opposite spectrum we have a Cincinnati squad that continues to win game after game and fight tooth and nail for wins. Joey Votto is blowing up into a superstar and Scott Rolen is rejuvenated. Throw in a solid pitching staff including a quality bullpen and this Reds team is not going away any time soon and far superior when compared to the North Siders.

Randy Wells was pitching very well before he stunk in that last start and was mediocre in the one before. I can see the righthander rebound here because he is alright and the Reds are not exactly a juggernaut but Wells still does not have the stuff or the upside of Volquez and the Reds are just flat out much better than the Cubs. So to get the visitors at this number is a total must play, even if not a bomb.

The pick: Cincinnati -105 at BetUs

For more information: An amazing comeback by the Brewers in the 9th inning led to another winning day. It looked bleak but then bam, making up for the Bob Davidson debacle from Florida on Thursday.
