NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
The Saints have to be a bit concerned about heading into their road playoff game against Seattle. They very quietly have a truckload of injuries. Free safety Malcolm Jenkins hurt his knee injury on Sunday and is questionable to play this Saturday. All three tight ends – Jimmy Graham (ankle), David Thomas (knee) and Jeremy Shockey (groin) – are battling injuries and in danger of missing the Wild Card game. Chris Ivory injured his foot yesterday and Pierre Thomas tweaked his ankle last week so Reggie Bush could end up starting at running back. Marques Colston isn't guaranteed to return from his knee surgery. Defensive tackle Anthony Hargrove (knee) is also questionable.
I know these are the defending champs but that is a massive list of injuries – enough to give sports betting sharps pause.
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
Matt Hasselbeck (hip) is probable to return Saturday and take the quarterback reins back from Charlie Whitehurst. But will his blind side be safe? Left tackle Russell Okung tweaked his ankle yesterday. He returned to the game but is questionable to play this week. Cornerback Kelly Jennings (leg) is also questionable.
NEW YORK JETS
Two of the Jets' most important cogs, quarterback Mark Sanchez and cornerback Darrelle Revis, are in doubt this week. Sanchez (shoulder) was limited to handoffs last week but, strangely, isn't listed on the Jets' injury report for now. We'll see come Wednesday. Revis (hamstring) is probable.
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
The Colts have had their share of devastating injuries this season, with Austin Collie, Dallas Clark, Bob Sanders and many more key contributors hitting the I.R., but they don't have any new surprises. Kevin Hayden and Clint Session have both missed multiple games with injuries and are no guarantees to return to Indy's defense this week.
BALTIMORE RAVENS
Baltimore suffered a couple of injuries yesterday but neither is expected to impact their Wild-Card showdown with Kansas City. Left tackle Michael Oher hurt his knee against Cincinnati but likely could have returned to the game. Josh Wilson left with a shoulder stinger and is probably the longer shot to play than Oher this week.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
Are the Kansas City Chiefs a sexy sportsbook play this week? If you swear by injury reports, they are. Aside from the minor leg injury that will not keep Dwayne Bowe out next week, K.C. has no injury news to report.
GREEN BAY PACKERS
This sports betting blog was surprised to see no new Packers go down with injuries in Week 17. However, the Pack are still crossing their fingers hoping Cullen Jenkins (calf), Atari Bigby (groin) and Frank Zombo (knee) can return from the injuries that kept them out on Sunday. Same goes for fullback Korey Hall.
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
Two crucial pieces for the Eagles look set to play against Green Bay on Sunday: Michael Vick and Asante Samuel. They were both held out of Sunday's game against Dallas as a precaution. The diagnosis isn't as positive for linebacker Stewart Bradley, who is trying to return from a dislocated elbow.
