Online Betting Preview – World Cup Action Takes Center Stage

2010 World Cup betting players are gearing up for the second week of the tournament in South Africa, and the teams are getting more comfortable, so you're going to start seeing better matches.  Elsewhere, there are two big series to watch for in Major League Baseball, while NASCAR's best test their road-course skills.

2010 World Cup Betting

Netherlands Japan Betting (Saturday, 7:30 AM ET): The Dutch are -250 favorites in this clash against the Japanese, and the Samurai Blue will be full of confidence after their 1-0 win over Cameroon.  The Oranje weren't at the top of their game for a 2-0 win over Denmark, but they'll get a boost of energy as Arjen Robben should be available after missing the first match with an ailing hamstring.

Ghana Australia Betting (Saturday, 10:00 AM ET): Ghana is favored at -110, and the Black Stars pulled out one of the upsets of the opening volley of games with a 1-0 stunner over Serbia.  Australia was routed 4-0 by Germany, and will be without Tim Cahill after he was harshly given a straight red card.  It looks like their World Cup finals betting hopes are over.

Brazil Ivory Coast Betting (Sunday, 2:30 PM ET): The Samba Kings are -150 favorites after a 2-1 win over North Korea in a match that was far more difficult than anyone thought it would be, but Brazil showed why they're five-time World Cup champions.  The Ivorians scratched out a 1-1 draw with Portugal, and look for Didier Drogba to start for Les Elephants.

MLB Betting

Dodgers Red Sox Betting (Saturday, 4:10 PM ET): The Dodgers will start Vicente Padilla against Boston knuckleballer Tim Wakefield, but the real story of this interleague series is the return of Manny Ramirez to Beantown.  The slugger helped Boston end their World Series drought with wins in 2004 and 2007, and he was the World Series MVP in 2007.

Mets Yankees Betting (Sunday, 1:05 PM ET): This could be the best pitching matchup of the weekend, and if you bet on MLBodds, you may want to take the under in the "Subway Series" finale.  The Mets will go with Johan Santana, who won the Cy Young with Minnesota in 2004 and 2006, while the Yankees will give the ball to C.C. Sabathia, who won it with Cleveland in 2007.

NASCAR Betting

Kasey Kahne was an unlikely winner at the Toyota SaveMart 350 (Sunday, 1:00 PM ET) last year at Infineon Raceway, but you can expect to see the usual drivers who do well on road courses up front.  Tony Stewart (two wins at Infineon), Jeff Gordon (five), Juan Pablo Montoya (one) and Marcus Ambrose are the favorites, along with Kyle Busch (one).  If you're sports betting online this weekend, take one of these guys.
