Kansas-North Carolina Sports Betting Preview

Kansas and North Carolina clash in the 2008 Final Four following the Memphis-UCLA contest. Let's take a look at the Jayhawks and Tar Heels from the oddsmakers viewpoint.  The college basketball betting odds have North Carolina a three-point favorite with a total of 160.

Kansas is 25-3 outright and 19-15 to the numbers. North Carolina is 36-2 straight up and a spectacular 23-10 against the spread. Both teams enter hot in the wallet, with Kansas on a 6-3 streak and Carolina 4-0.

Not surprisingly, each team is strong on both ends of the court. Kansas makes 50.7 percent of their shots against teams normally allowing 43.1, but they also allow just 37.9 percent to teams normally getting 44.7.

The Tar Heels make 49.1 percent of their shots to squads that allow a cumulative average of 42.5 percent. Defensively, North Carolina is not so impressive. They allow 72.2 points per game to teams normally getting 72.1 on 42.3 percent shooting versus 45.1.

Here are some against the spread records: the Jayhawks are 6-1 their last seven as an underdog but they have failed in 7-of-10 to the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Tar Heels are a stunning 42-17 their last 59 non-conference clashes, yet they are 2-7 their last nine as a favorite of 6.5 or less.
