The Dandy Dog of the Year Goes Today

Godspicks.com has two Wise Guy plays among seven winners.  Dandy dogs are dogs of 140 or more in MLB. Folks we have a system that is literally BETTER than 39-0! We tell you EXACTLY what that means.

It was the prominent splitting headache day as The Center of the Handicapping Universe Godspicks.com goes 3-3 but, no chalk losers and two dog winners including Dandy Dog on Texas puts us over the top.

Ø      84-61 but with 34 dog winners of 125 or more which converts to a “wallet equivalent” of 107-61 (correcting typo from yesterday)

The ENTIRE card  is just $17 at www.godspicks.com.

MLB

ST. LOUIS (MARQUIS -110) Los Angeles (Billingsley)

The Cards are 11-2 their last 13. Going against starting pitchers who give up two or fewer earned runs in each of his last two starts to a pitcher whose ERA is 7.00 or higher over his last five is +84.1, there is another that’s +92.3.

LA is 1-9 their last 10. Yes Marquis is off a horrible outing, but a solid pitcher with a track record, we are confident of the bounce back.

Friday Godspicks

Friday, July 21, 2006

Now is the time to hop on.  We have so few losing streaks, but when we do, we ALWAYS follow it up with a windfall many times over our rare and brief losing streaks.  Of course our two-day skid is a result of a rare blown save by Trevor Hoffman and an extra inning setback, but nevertheless the standard punishment to the books commences with four winners tonight and not a chalk among them.

Get at least the three-day weekend warrior pass. The ENTIRE card  is just $17 at www.godspicks.com.  Paybacks are hell and the books have a quarter century of proof.  But there are still plenty of people betting without the Center of the Handicapping Universe Godspicks.com’s prowess, so the man keeps paying—and will again.

MLB

ST. LOUIS (SUPPAN +120) Los Angeles (Penny)

We are not generally fans of “time of year” specific systems, but we have an exception.  A lot of systems involving going with pitchers with bad numbers in the second half are consistent with our belief that there are a lot of pitchers out there with huge upsides (or downsides).  For a pitcher to have bad numbers at this point, yet still stay in the rotation, chances are he’s much better than his numbers.

Going with road teams whose ERA is 5.20-5.70 in the second half of the year is +89.2 units.

St. Louis is 8-2 their last 10.  LA is 1-7 their last eight.  Suppan in fact is off a fine outing to LA, giving up one run in seven innings.  The upside is there.

Hearing Expected Shortly

Joe Duffy

JoeDuffy.net has not been able to confirm reports from the Online Wire, to which I am a freelance writer, that BetOnSports has struck a very favorable deal with the US Department of Justice Gestapo concerning the Tobetaban Square Massacre.  Those reports have been publicly denied and sources close to JoeDuffy.net have only said that BetOnSports in optimistic about an immanent hearing.
Analysis as one would expect varies.  Christopher Costigan, head honcho at Gambling911.com is all but writing the obituary for BoS.  Ironically, BoS CEO David Carruthers just last week boldly predicted recent legislation would not lead to a ban of online gambling.
Powerbroker Calvin Ayre of BoDog is quite confident the industry overall will do fine despite Tobetaban Square Massacre.
Some say the US’s attack on gambling traces back to the infamous Black Sox scandal. Clearly the so-called Department of Justice disregards the will of the people as a Wall Street Journal poll shows a stunning majority are against a ban.

News Continues to Break On BetOnSports Bust

Joe Duffy (www.godspicks.com)

BetOnSports has temporarily shut down their sites pending advice on their attorneys following the stunning arrest of David Carruthers, their CEO. This follows a week in which state and federal official opted to infringe on your civil rights with legislation.

News shocked the industry and sent gaming stocks tumbling on the London Stock Exchange. The Toronto Stock exchange also took a huge hit. Trading on BetOnSports has been suspended.

Will the government’s war on online gambling continue?  We are likely to know more when many offshore bigwigs fly to Las Vegas for the BoDog Marketing Conference, which is going on as planned.

According to one powerful industry insider, this may have been a long time coming as their founder Gary Kaplan has been in trouble with US authorities before.  Many believe Curruthers and/or Kaplan was targeted by the US Gestapo.

Do You Feel Safer Now

Do You Feel Safer Now?

Joe Duffy (JoeDuffy.net)

Thank you Department of Justice for making the world safer for democracy.  Thank you United States Congress for protecting us all against our own stupidity. The United States is winning the war against our greatest threat: the boogie man.

Or at least the bookie man.

First, the House passed legislation that is designed to prevent you from using your credit to place a bet and may even block out websites that have the audacity to take that bet. Didn’t our own government lambaste China for doing the same thing?

A few years ago the Supreme Court said it’s okay to have “virtual” child pornography because it was simulated. That’s fine they ruled, but apparently playing poker for money is not.

Republicans out of the right side of their mouth preach personal responsibility.  They also sing the virtues of creating new ways to create tax revenue instead of simply raising taxes.  Then out of the other right side of their mouth, they demand a crackdown on online gambling because you are too stupid to know gambling is the axis of all evil.

Democrats sermonize about privacy.  You should be able to do whatever you want in the privacy of your own bedroom as long as you don’t double down on 11. Out of the other left side of their mouth, many support the Prohibition of the new century: betting.

What kind of country do we live in when there is a greater outcry for the alleged privacy rights of suspected terrorists who are not even citizens of the United States, yet minimal indignation when your basic civil right to put your money where you mouth is becomes under attack from our own elected bureaucracy?

The stuffed suits talk about fears of fully legalized gambling leading to a progression of addiction.  There goes that kooky expectation of individual accountability.

However, we know our civil servants would never be hypocritical, so surely we can outlaw other addictive vices such as alcohol again, credit cards, video games (not because they are addicting, just because too many are idiotic), and cheesesteaks.  Oh, and what is more addictive than Laura Dhue, the blonde who puts the “fox” in Fox News? What in the name of Bill Frist are we waiting for?  Outlaw Laurie Dhue now before I max out my credit cards buying any more HDTVs and VCRs so I can have all Laurie, all the time.

The US will never catch Osama Bin Laden, but they got their big fish, David Carruthers, CEO of previously unknown terrorist group BETonSports. Reports say they are linked to an insurgency organization known as Millennium Sports.

Curruthers was arrested on a 22-count indictment of racketeering, conspiracy and fraud.  We can only assume the fraud charge was a result of again making Peyton Manning a favorite in a playoff game. We are still researching the reasons for the other charges.  I sent an email to Judge Wapner.

I will let others debate which laws are constitutional or can be enforced.  We spend too much time dilly-dallying about whether the government can stop you from placing a bet, rather than the real issue of why they wish to have such a police state to begin with.

Will one of our elected officials take time away from accepting bribes and explain to me why we have laws to deter us from choosing to place a bet or not to place a bet?

Open appeal to Bill O’Reilly or even Keith Olbermann and your 16 viewers: feel free to have me as a guest on your show to expose the illogic of the Big Brother I never had… or ever wanted. My email is joeduffyATjoeduffyDOTnet.

PHILADELPHIA (HAMELS -105) San Diego (Williams)

Philadelphia is a sensational 16-5 the last 21 in the series including 8-0 in San Diego. Virtual pick ‘em games (line 125 or less either way) with a bullpen that averages 3 2/3 innings per game and with a starting pitcher whose ERA is 7.50 last three starts is +92.2.

Most importantly, the Phils continue to be predictably unpredictable. They go in extended streaks and are currently on a 4-1 run.  Going against starting pitchers who give up two or fewer earned runs in each of his last two starts to a pitcher whose ERA is 7.00 or higher over his last five is +82 units.
