Tipping off on the hardwood . . .

The NBA offers up just four games on Monday, with Philadelphia at Dallas, Memphis at Utah, Indiana at Golden State, and Chicago at Milwaukee. The Bulls (6-8 SU, 4-10 ATS) fell 105-86 in
Utah in their last game on Thursday, with Luol Deng scoring a team-high 26 points and Derrick Rose adding 19 points in the loss. The Bucks (8-7 SU, 9-6 ATS) are coming off a 100-98 home loss to Orlando on Saturday night. Ersan Ilyasova had 20 points and 16 rebounds in that defeat.

As well, the top team in action in college hoops on Monday is Kentucky, which hosts N.C. Asheville. The Wildcats (6-0 SU, 2-3 ATS) beat Stanford 73-65 in the championship game of the Cancun Challenge last time out, with John Wall scoring 23 points. Other ranked teams in action on Monday include Syracuse, which plays host to Colgate, and Georgetown, which gets a visit from Mount St. Mary's. The Hoyas sit at 4-0 SU and 1-1 ATS through four games on the season.

Taking a trip around the rink . . .

Finally, there are eight games on the NHL's slate for Monday, with Washington at Carolina, Buffalo at Toronto, Florida at Atlanta, St. Louis at Columbus, Dallas at Detroit, Colorado at Tampa Bay, Calgary at Nashville, and Pittsburgh at the Rangers. The 18-9-0 Penguins routed the 13-12-1 Rangers by a score of 8-3 when the teams met in Pittsburgh on Saturday night. Sidney Crosby had a hat trick and two assists for the Pens in that win, while Evgeni Malkin had two points. Stephen Valiquette was in goal for the Rangers, allowing eight goals on 33 shots.

Cyber Monday Deals For Sports Fans Not as Good as ESPN Football Picks For MNF

If you are excited about Marc Mezvinsky and Chelsea Clinton getting engaged, the Tiger Woods accident rumors or the Tiger Woods mistress pictures, you are probably more interested in the entertainment and political betting odds section.  Cyber Monday best deals for sports fans are being gobbled up faster than groupons, zhu zhu pets, and extrabux.

Still the best way to earn extra bucks for that meal at the Bedford Post is with winning sports picks.

One of the best pro handicappers Matt Rivers says go with the over in the Patriots-Saints game. SportsBook has the total at 56.5.

Let me preface this by saying that I am not a totals player because more times than not over-unders are crapshoots that can truly go either way. But tonight I do see some value in the over and will make a small play on said high.

The total is certainly extremely high and pretty much as hefty as you will ever see in an NFL game. It is asking a ton to get over this hurdle but in my professional opinion 40-37 is a lot more likely than 20-17 which leads to a far greater upside on that over.

Could the defenses rise up a bit and this game stay under the number? Sure it could as this is far from the lock of my life but we could also see 24-21 with these two offenses and one of those hindsight situations where this was never really in doubt.

You know that Drew Brees and the high flying Saints will put up points with Colston and Bush and Thomas and
Bell and Henderson and Meachem and on and on. You also know that one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game in Tom Brady will cause a ton of damage with Randy Moss and Wes Welker doing their thing.

Call me a square for sounding like every Joe Schmo that would call for this thing to go over. But at times those people are even right and I see this as being one of those times.

If this game is played 100 times I see it going over a lot more than 50 and that is the bottom line creating the value.

Rivers says bet the ESPN Monday Night Football Game over the total.

Week 12 NFL Spread Picks Free

More anticipated than the Tiger Woods 911 tapes, one not need have a PhD from the College of the Ozarks to jingle all the way to banks for the top football spread week 12 predictions.

Among the best handicappers in the pick nation is Matt Rivers, who will give gamblers a big time rush with a free sports pick for Sunday. Rivers NFL pick is to go with the Titans minus 2.5 at Bodog hosting Arizona

Something has got to give today and I know which side I think will give. Arizona has amazingly won all five of its road games this season but Tennessee has been on-fire of late winning its last four games overall.

My money is that the banged up Kurt Warner and the visiting Cardinals will not keep up this pace away from the desert. Arizona has not been a team that has traveled all that well over the years and we saw that first hand a season ago in the regular season when they were embarassed time and time again. The games were not even close with that debacle in New England being the capper late in the season.

Ken Whisenhunt's gang obviously turned things around in the playoffs as they shocked Carolina and they do have a great offense led by Warner, Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin and a revamped running attack but going back across the country against is just not happening again today.

Tennessee has new life and actually is somewhat in the playoff picture if they continue to win games. Chris Johnson may be the most dominant player in the entire NFL as his speed is beyond belief and Vince Young, love him or hate him, does just seem to win a ton somehow, someway.

Jeff Fisher is a great coach who has a team that is a lot intact from the 13 win season last year. Why did they start 0-6? I have absolutely no idea but that is not the team we will see today and to ask them to pretty much only have to win this game at home is fine with me.
