Sportsbooks Await Grammy Awards Vegas Odds and Pro Bowl Start Time

NFL fans await the Pro Bowl start time. Sportsbooks have the odds at the NFC -3 with a total of 57.5.

Other betting fans await the 2010 Grammy Awards. Bodog has several favorites. Fearless - Taylor Swift is leading the way for Best Album at ½, an overwhelming favorite. Next is The E N D - The Black Eyed Peas and The E N D - The Black Eyed Peas at 7/2.

Record of the Year is a little closer race. You Belong With Me - Taylor Swift is 11/10, followed by Halo – Beyonce at 19/10. She is followed by Use Somebody - Kings of Leon at 11/4, then two others at 11/2: Poker Face - Lady GaGa and I Gotta Feelin - The Black Eyed Peas.

There are co-favorites for Song of the Year: Single Ladies – Beyonce and Use Somebody - Kings of Leon.

Best New Artist is the tightest of the major categories: MGMT is 10/10 just ahead of 7/5 choice Zac Brown Band. Keri Hilson is 37/20. Silversun Pickups is the long shot 10/1.

Back to the NFL, the Colts and Peyton Manning are -5.5 over the Saints and Drew Brees in the updated Super Bowl odds. The total is 57 according to OffshoreInsiders.com

Florida-Tennessee, UNC-UVA Spread Picks

Super basketball betting expert Matt Rivers has a free sports pick on St. Joe's plus the points.  They are getting seven-points at Duquesne according to Bodog.

I certainly can't love this current St. Joe's outfit as guys like Delonte West and Jameer Nelson are long gone and overall the Hawks are probably fielding their worst team in a long, long time but who is Duquesne right now?

The Dukes are not very good and have not beaten anybody above terrible by this number and that includes some teams that are well inferior to Phil Martelli's squad. Duquesne has literally lost six of their last seven games and with the lone win coming at home over St Bonaventure resulting in yet another non-cover. This team just has nothing at all right now and to be laying a touchdown or so to anybody is silly. They basically score only in the 60's as this is far from being the offensive juggernaut we have seen at times in recent seasons.

St Joe's is in the midst of a poor season and did just lose in a poor effort against a mediocre at the very best UMASS squad but they did win three straight before that defeat and are playing a little bit better overall.

Govens and Williamson form a solid enough backcourt and the Hawks rebounding woes should not be as big of a deal today thanks to the Dukes not exactly being Kings on the boards themselves.

This game fits the perfect analogy, which I like to use at times. It is like black jack. We are backing a losing 16 of a hand. But when that dealer has a six I all of a sudden like my hand as the odds are on my side.

I feel a couple of pictures coming for them and a cover for us!

For more information: Another perfect 3-0 Saturday and I'm now up 1.6 million* of profit the past 15 days. If you thought my 400,000* bomb on Georgetown burying Duke was impressive wait until you see the trick I have up my sleeve today. Raising that bar even further on an absolute joke of a game in which the number is literally 10 points off, yes 10! 35-14 lifetime with my 500,000* plays! Click now to purchase

Saturday Free College Basketball

Sensational handicapper Matt Rivers of OffshoreInsiders.com says bet on Kentucky minus the points against Vanderbilt. They are laying 10 at SportsBook.

It's not like me to lay a fairly big number like this and especially not against a pretty solid Vanderbilt squad but the intangibles are all lined up for a quality Wildcat win.

To begin with being back home at Rupp Arena is obviously a huge plus for Coach Cal's boys. Then you factor in how this team now will not just walk on the court and think their shit don't stink if you know what I mean. John Wall and the fellows were caught up in the whole we're number one thing and we're never going to lose and were not emotionally ready for what the Gamecocks were bringing the other night. Devan Downey was a stud and the 'Cats just did not bring that a-game as evidence by all of the missed opportunities and mental breakdowns and that game turned out to be a nice little lesson for Kentucky.

On the opposite extreme Vanderbilt is coming off of a great outing and victory in Knoxville against Bruce Pearl's Volunteers. To ask them to once again put forth a great effort is not very believable as the let-down is in. These kids are going to "Rupp" to play big bad "Kentucky" I understand that but Human nature still will create a letdown.

AJ Ogilvy, Jermaine Beal and the Commodores would be better off if they were smacked around a bit in that last game and now had to save face as it's just asking too much to stay at such a high against a pair of very good or even great teams for two straight games like this.

You know that Calipari was in his team's face since that last loss. His message is now across to the team and these young kids now understand that they are not invincible and will need to come out and play their bawls off.

In that last home game KU absolutely obliterated an improving and pretty decent Arkansas squad. This game won't get that ugly but it will result in a beating and a Kentucky win and cover.

NBA Picks Hawks vs. Magic

It’s not quite Super Bowl odds, but a matchup between Orlando and Atlanta in the NBA on Saturday should be very intriguing. Before Friday’s games, the two were tied at the top of the Southeast Division, and the Magic are coming off a big win.

Hawks vs Magic odds – Saturday, January 30, 7:00 PM ET

The Hawks will face a Boston team on Friday, and the Celtics will be angry after losing a late lead in Orlando on Friday night, so they should pose a pretty tough test to Atlanta, who are 5-5 in the second half of back-to-back games this season. If the Hawks are going to break their current five-game skid against the Magic, they’ll need more scoring, as Joe Johnson leads the way with only 14.5 points in two meetings with Orlando this season. The Hawks are averaging 78.5 points as a team against the Magic, and we’re betting management would like to see more baskets.

The Magic were down by 16 at home to Boston on Thursday, but never stop fighting, and Rashard Lewis laid the ball in with 1.3 seconds left in a 96-94 victory. This could be a huge win for the Magic, who haven’t played up to expectations lately, and they could have given up, but they showed a lot of heart. Lewis in particular has been struggling, but he led the team with 23 on Thursday. Dwight Howard has dominated the Hawks in their two meetings, putting up 17.5 points, 12.0 boards and 3.5 blocks.

The Magic should be favored by US sportsbook odds (US sportsbook reviews) at Amway Arena on Saturday, as they had the day off on Friday, while the Hawks will probably be playing a tough game against the Celtics. The Hawks are also just 11-10 on the road, and have lost seven of their last 10 in Orlando. The win over the Celtics could be what the Magic needed to spark their season, and look to Howard to be a factor as the Hawks don’t have much size inside, and he’s been very good from the free-throw line lately. Also, the flight might not be that long, but Atlanta still has to travel to Orlando after Friday’s game, and those couple of hours could cost them late against the Magic.

Best online sportsbook pick: Orlando

Friday NBA Free Pick

Sensational handicapper Matt Rivers says take Celtics plus the points at Atlanta. They are getting four at BetUs Sportsbook. Here is why:

Here's the question of the day, can the Hawks really go a perfect 4-0 this season against the Celtics? Yup, if you didn't know, Atlanta is 3-0 thus far against Boston and will be the fresher team tonight after Kevin Garnett and the C's tangled in Orlando last night.

Mike Woodson has done a great job with the Hawks and Atlanta is not a fluke at all. Jamal Crawford has been great off of the bench to help out Johnson, Horford and Smith. These guys are going to be a tough out in the playoffs.

With all of that said I will still grab whatever I can with the visitors here at Philips Arena. I just cannot fathom Garnett, Pierce, Allen and Rondo falling in all four games in the regular season to what is still the little brother in this rivalry in the Hawks.

Boston may have some tired legs tonight after banging with Dwight Howard and Orlando last night but there is also something personal for the C's here after lightning has already struck three times and a fourth is highly unlikely in my book. Plus a handful is a go for me especially after just falling very late last night in Orlando.

Garnett has missed the last few games in this series and I think with him back on the court Boston will grab the victory and if not then at the very least the cover.

For more information: Tonight it's 200,000* Princeton-Brown, 200,000* Memphis-San Antonio, 200,000* LA Clippers-Minnesota. Yes I had some heartbreak last night but you know I win for you. Drew Brees, Peyton Manning 2010 Super Bowl Props Abound

It's Super Bowl XLIV, the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints.

SportsBook is among the first of the oddsmakers to have up Saints-Colts Super Bowl proposition bets for key players. Drew Brees and Peyton Manning prop bets abound.

In what at first glance looks like a steal—the over/under for number of touchdown passes Brees throws is just 1.5—does come at a price. "Over" is -190. The over/under on Brees pass attempts is 35.5 with the over at -135.

The betting odds on Peyton Manning over/unders of 305.5 passing yards, 25.5 completions, 36.5 pass attempts, and 2.5 touchdown passes with under at -145.

Of course just about every player has sundry possible bets. Indianapolis RB Joseph Addai has total of 65.5 rushing yards. The total receptions set for Reggie Wayne is 5.5, Pierre Garcon is 4.5, and Austin Collie is 3.5.

For Saints and Colts players alike, one can wager football on total receiving yards such as New Orleans' Jeremy Shockey at 29.5 or longest reception for each player. Reggie Bush has his at 12.5 yards.

How many yards receiving will Marques Colston get? BetUs Sportsbook has the number at 71.5. Bodog and Just Bet Sportsbook are other top bookmakers will fantasy football betting odds set.

NBA Friday Preview

Memphis Grizzlies (25-19) @ San Antonio Spurs (26-18)

With the big game only a little more than a week away, the Super Bowl odds and NFL picks are getting most of the focus while many other important games are flying under the radar. This Friday, in one such game, the Memphis Grizzlies travel down to the Alamo to take on Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs.

Sportsbook outlook:

Spread: Spurs -4

Over/Under: 198

Money Lines: Grizzlies +120, Spurs -150

Let’s take a look at the matchups in this one:

PG: Mike Conley Jr. vs. George Hill

Conley in his third year out of Ohio State has been solid this season with his most notable improvement being his lights out three point shooting (45% on 111 attempts). His shot gets better every year he plays. His 10 points and 5 assists a game are not indicative of his impact he has as his ball handling skills are not as important with the bevy of ball-handlers on this team.

George Hill will be starting this game in all likelihood after Tony Parker went down with what appeared to be a badly rolled ankle which he suffered in the third quarter of a blowout of the Atlanta Hawks Wednesday night. Hill is a solid backup, but Parker is the driving force behind this offense and would have been a matchup nightmare for the defensively challenged Conley.

Advantage: Memphis

SG: O.J. Mayo vs. Manu Ginobili

Mayo has developed quickly before our eyes and is maybe only a year away from being an all-star in the NBA. Averaging 18.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists and 1.25 steals, Mayo has shown why he was so coveted out of USC. His length and speed on defense will be on display as he takes on one of the league’s most creative and offensively gifted 2-guards.

Manu Ginobili has been bitten by the injury bug again this season and issues with his shins are causing Manu some speed and lift and his game has noticeably suffered. The Spurs will need him to play up to the best of his abilities in this one as he has an incredibly tough defensive assignment in Mayo and will have to be good to beat him defensively. Manu when healthy is almost unstoppable, but he is not but will rely on his upper-echelon court awareness and wealth of experience in this battle.

Advantage: Even

SF: Rudy Gay vs. Richard Jefferson

Rudy Gay has emerged this season as one of the best small forwards in the game. He has added a variety of moves to his arsenal this season and has the penchant for taking games over late. His incredible wingspan and speed make him a challenge to drive against and hard to shoot over. Averaging 20.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2 assists and 1.45 steals a game, Rudy Gay is good enough right now to make the trip to Dallas Stadium for the all-star game (*reserves announced after writing) and deserves it.

RJ has had a tough season in his first with the San Antonio Spurs. He simply has not been the offensive spark they thought they were getting when trading for him in the off-season. With 12.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists a game with 35.7%  three point shooting on 112 attempts, RJ simply hasn’t gotten the job done and the Spurs are looking for trades to get someone who can still score, the way RJ once was able to.

Advantage: Memphis

PF: Zack Randolph vs Tim Duncan

Zeebo should certainly get the nod to go to Dallas for the all-star game. His gaudy 21 points, 11.6 boards and 2 assists don’t even really tell the story. The 4.6 offensive rebounds a game have been very telling of Zack’s hard-work and reinvention. As a Knicks fan who watched this guy for the greater part of 2 years, his effort-level is at an all-time high that I have never seen and he has become the emotional leader of this squad.

Tim Duncan is the greatest power forward (and often mistaken for a center) in the game, maybe of all-time…and he’s still doing it. Coming off a masterful 21 points, 27 rebounds and 6 assists night against the 29-15 Atlanta Hawks, Duncan now has a challenge in the reenergized Randolph. Expect “The Big Fundamental” to be up for the challenge and to be a force down low for the young slashers of the Grizz. Duncan is still the best and neither F Randolph, nor C Gasol move well enough to score consistently on the great Timmy D.

Advantage: Spurs

C: Marc Gasol vs. Antonio McDyess

The little brother of Pau Gasol, Marc has finally arrived on the scene in the NBA. He was an MVP in Spain, and is showing that pedigree here in the NBA. Looking slim and trim, at least by comparison to last year, Gasol has developed a rhythm with F Zack Randolph down in the paint and is a good passer down low. Averaging 15.1 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists, Gasol is fast becoming a top center in the NBA.

Antonio McDyess has been around the league for a long time. While Tim Duncan will play offense at PF, he will play beneath the basket on defense. McDyess will likely have guard Zack Randolph if he shoots from the perimeter. Dice has struggled this season with his productivity, but has played better of late with 31 points in the last two games. Still, Dice is way past his prime and only plays 25 minutes a game, tops.

Advantage: Grizzlies

Bench: Jamaal Tinsley, Sam Young, DeMarre Carroll, Hasheem Thabeet vs. Keith Bogans, DeJuan Blair, Matt Bonner, Roger Mason

The Grizzlies don’t really use their bench all that much. Tinsley and Young have played the most recently at around 15 minutes but this team is young and they play lots of minutes. The Grizzlies would be smart to trade for a veteran forward if they want to succeed in the playoffs.

The Spurs bench will be a little short with George Hill having to start but they have good role players in shooters Keith Bogans and Matt Bonner and Roger Mason with rookie DeJuan Blair being a force on the boards.

Advantage: Spurs

Prediction: The Spurs playing without Tony Parker at the helm is going to be a problem against a strong Grizzlies squad. Being at home will help the Spurs but their strength of rebounding and outside shooting does not match up well with the Grizzlies with no Tony Parker. Parker was the guy who could slash into the paint and breakdown the defense opening up shots for the 3-point shooters. I don’t think Jefferson and a hobbled Manu can fill that void against the young and athletic Grizzlies.

Final: Memphis 92- San Antonio 88

5dimes review: Take the Grizzlies and the under.

Free Basketball Spread Pick: Arizona State Covers Against Cal

Super hot basketball handicapper Matt Rivers says go with Arizona State at home hosting California. They are laying four points at BetUs Sportsbook.

I truly have no idea how Herb Sendek's Sun Devils could have possibly laid the big fat stinky egg they just did at home against Arizona but I think that was more of a random occurrence than a developing trend. After all it was pretty much just a dreadful second half not so much the full game

ASU certainly is not the team they were last season when they had stars in James Harden and Jeff Pendergraph leading the way but these guys are still a potential top 25 squad and at home should get the better of Cal. More times than not teams that come off horrendous last outings will come in to their next game more focused and I can see a solid coach in Sendek get his point across all week in practice.

Derek Glasser is a team leader and a guy at the point who will be embarrassed after that last effort. Rihards Kuklis, Ty Abbott and a few others in Tempe should feel comfortable and despite Cal being a good team ASU clearly has the huge edge playing here at home. It's not like the Devils are talentless at all as they are 14-6 and won four in a row before that last game.

The Golden Bears may be the best team in the entire Pac-10 in terms of talent but the conference as a whole is fairly terrible this season and so that's not really saying all that much about Mike Montgomery's team. Jerome Randle is obviously very very good but the Bears are coming of of a very pedestrian effort themselves only winning 65-61 as the 14 point chalk over a struggling struggling Oregon State group and as I always say the road is never easy.

Look for Arizona State to come out spirited and grab the cash in the end somewhere in the range of 68-59.

NBA Betting: Magic Host Celtics in Eastern Showdown

It’s not quite Super Bowl odds, but it’s a big matchup to watch out for. Boston will head to Florida for a battle with the Magic in a clash of two Eastern Conference favorites. Both teams have been inconsistent since the start of the new year, but they’ll surely bring out their best on Thursday for this nationally-televised game.

Celtics vs Magic odds – Thursday, 8:00 PM ET

The Celtics won two games at home against Portland and the Clippers, and now face a very tough back-to-back at Orlando and Atlanta. Paul Pierce has six games in a row of 20 points or more, and remember, Kevin Garnett is still playing his way into shape after a knee injury. Ray Allen has been slumping, averaging just 12.2 points in his last five games, but Rajon Rondo has been picking up the slack, along with his typical stat-stuffing performance all over the floor. Rondo has been a triple-double threat in two games against the Magic, posting 11.5 points, 9.5 boards and 7.0 assists, and if he has a game with those numbers, Boston should come away with a sportsbook win.

The Magic followed up an overtime win in Charlotte by falling in Memphis, and Vince Carter has three straight games in double figures. Carter is playing better after sitting out with a shoulder problem, and they need him on the floor to create space for Dwight Howard, who is trying to carry the Magic. Howard has 22.4 points and 14.6 boards over his last five games, and he’s even shooting 73.6% from the field, which is ridiculous for “Superman”. Carter has averaged 26.5 points in two meetings with the Celtics this season.

US sportsbook odds (US sportsbook reviews) should favor the Magic at home, where they are 16-4. But guess who is one of those four teams to beat the Magic in Orlando? That’s right, the Celtics won 86-77 at Amway Arena on Christmas Day behind a typically great all-around game from Rondo while forcing the Magic to shoot 33.3% from the field. This seems like the sort of game that Boston, a veteran team with lots of experience, are built for, and they’re rounding into form right now. The Magic seem to be having an identity crisis: are they still a three-point gunning team, or are they Dwight Howard’s team?

Internet sports betting pick: Celtics

Duke Basketball Will Fail to Cover Versus Florida State

The future of sports handicapping Stevie Vincent has a Level 4 winner on Akron over Western Michigan at Bodog.

Here is what Vincent's forensic sports handicapping ATS information on this game is: Western Michigan 1-13 off a game home favorites, 3-14 off three straight conference games, 4-15 off home game, Akron 37-14 ATS loss, 32-14 off loss.

Now to ScoresOddsPicks.com plays which are being released exclusively on OffshoreInsiders.com.

Florida State at No. 7 Duke (-14) – 9:00 p.m. ET

Duke (16-3, 12-6 ATS) has lost two of its last three games, with both defeats coming on the road. Despite those setbacks, the Blue Devils have been very kind to college basketball betting fans playing the spread, as they've covered six of their last eight games.

Florida State (15-4, 4-10 ATS) has put together back-to-back wins after a two game winning streak, giving it nine wins in eleven games. Despite the recent victories, the Seminoles have dropped four in a row against the spread.

The Blue Devils have won four straight games in this series, though FSU managed a split against the spread. Duke is certainly the best team, but the Seminoles will give it a run for its money. Look for Florida State to cover but lose the game.

Texas Will Rout Texas Tech and Sportsbook Says Pro Handicapping Expert

For the latest free pick we turn to the all-time winningest sports handicapper ever, Joe Duffy of GodsTips, anchor of OffshoreInsiders.com. He says to bet Texas -17 over Texas Tech.

Like we said, Texas has that brutal two game stretch made tougher by the fact nothing is more difficult than a team hitting the road off their first loss of the year. Now is the situation where the Longhorns will come back with a vengeance.

Sorry Bobby Knight, but your son isn't a very good coach. The last three road games Tech has been destroyed by 15 to New Mexico, 29 at Oklahoma State and 26 at Kansas. Texas is certainly better than the first two. While Kansas may be the most talented team in the nation, Texas is not far behind and will certainly be playing with as much of an edge as any team the Red Raiders have seen.

Longhorns coach Barnes said he will not change the starting lineup, but he wants his team to focus more on looking for Pittman, who has gone five consecutive games without scoring more than six points. The Longhorns want to reassert defense as a priority. And they want to show they're not going to allow back-to-back losses create any self-doubt. This sounds like he's readying for a rout.

Sports spread pick: Texas -17 at Bodog.

Iowa +10.5 Covers to Ohio State

The free picks section continues to produce winners and the premium sports service best bets is more anticipated than Obama's State of the Union address time, mygeektime, and the Apple announcement live feed combined.

Watch Steve Jobs Apple Tablet announcement than win all the money needed to pay for it by betting Iowa plus the points according to Matt Rivers, who was the winningest handicapper ever on a large network of handicapping sites before being promoted to The Show. Iowa is getting 10.5 points from Ohio State at most sportsbooks.

Rivers rationale:

There was no bigger Hawkeye basher on the planet than me earlier in the season. I'm not at all saying that Iowa is anything better than mediocre at best right now but I will give Todd Lickliter's team some due as they are improving and double digits or so at home in what should be a low scoring game is fine with me here.

IU has won and covered three of their last four and in the last trio of games just look and feel like a better team than what they were earlier. As a home dog they upset
Penn State, then went to Michigan State and played extremely hard grabbing the cash easily in the end and then in the last game went to Indiana and absolutely whacked the improving Hoosiers. No they're not exactly Duke or Kansas just yet and will have issues galore against maybe the best player in the country in Evan Turner but there's no reason this thing can't end 61-55.

Thad Matta's team has picked it up of late and are a quality 14-6 even with losing Turner for a month or so. But they did just blow that double digit lead in Morgantown last time out losing by six to West Virginia and with Minnesota on-deck could be in a flat sandwich type spot here.

Take out the impressive comeback win in Purdue and the Buckeyes have done extremely little on the road. If the team that upset the Boilermakers shows up here than the Hawkeyes could get outclassed a bit but this is a conference game where the home dog is getting a bit too much, period.

The pick: Iowa +10.5 at BetUs Sportsbook.
