Friday Godspicks

Friday, July 21, 2006

Now is the time to hop on.  We have so few losing streaks, but when we do, we ALWAYS follow it up with a windfall many times over our rare and brief losing streaks.  Of course our two-day skid is a result of a rare blown save by Trevor Hoffman and an extra inning setback, but nevertheless the standard punishment to the books commences with four winners tonight and not a chalk among them.

Get at least the three-day weekend warrior pass. The ENTIRE card  is just $17 at www.godspicks.com.  Paybacks are hell and the books have a quarter century of proof.  But there are still plenty of people betting without the Center of the Handicapping Universe Godspicks.com’s prowess, so the man keeps paying—and will again.

MLB

ST. LOUIS (SUPPAN +120) Los Angeles (Penny)

We are not generally fans of “time of year” specific systems, but we have an exception.  A lot of systems involving going with pitchers with bad numbers in the second half are consistent with our belief that there are a lot of pitchers out there with huge upsides (or downsides).  For a pitcher to have bad numbers at this point, yet still stay in the rotation, chances are he’s much better than his numbers.

Going with road teams whose ERA is 5.20-5.70 in the second half of the year is +89.2 units.

St. Louis is 8-2 their last 10.  LA is 1-7 their last eight.  Suppan in fact is off a fine outing to LA, giving up one run in seven innings.  The upside is there.
