The Spurs, a team with two rings, is pacing themselves for the postseason. Phoenix still has a lot to prove. Tonight, though is the exception. The Spurs have only two games to make statements before the playoffs. They play at Dallas on April 15 and then tonight.
San Antonio outscores teams by 9.5 points per game at home, but like we said, tonight they finally have something to prove. They trail Phoenix by three games, so the vets will be awoken.
Remember, good teams take out their frustrations from a bad loss in more than just the next game and that applies here. The Spurs (53-21) have won 20 of their past 23 games. They blew a seven-point lead in the final three minutes Sunday to lose at Indiana. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich called it a “pathetic performance,” and his team bounced back to crush Seattle 110-91 on Tuesday.
The better team is playing at home and has double motivation. San Antonio pulls away at the end.
