I'm asking a lot here, I really am. Why? Because this current Tiger squad is beat up and not very good. But in these first two games at Fenway they have performed well enough to win both and with Jhonny Peralta helping to protect Miggy and with a stud in Justin Verlander on the hill I'll take back a price and take my chances.
Clay Bucholz is very good and the Red Sox are the superior team and the squad that should win this game but Verlander is a guy that can be lights out at anytime. The Sox did win the game yesterday in the end thanks to that huge comeback and they did make things interesting late on Friday night in the narrow loss but Boston has not really played good quality baseball since coming back home from the west coast and could trip up a bit here against a quality guy in Verlander.
Detroit isn't a very good time right now but they are good enough at this price in this spot. They hit both Lester and Dice-K in the past few days and have a solid enough shot to hit Bucholz and to get this number with Verlander is good enough for me.
