Today in the Daily Sports Roundup: The Celtics continue life without KG, the Sooners take on the Jayhawks, and the Sharks try to take a bite out of the Stars.
Tipping off on the hardwood . . .
The Celtics begin their first full week without the services of star forward Kevin Garnett on Monday night when they play on the road against the Nuggets. Garnett is expected to miss up to three weeks of action as he heals from the strained knee he suffered last week. The Celtics and Nuggets last met back on November 14, when Denver pulled out a 94-85 road victory. Chauncey Billups had 18 points in that win for the Nuggets, while Ray Allen tossed in 26 for Boston.
The other top matchup on Monday night has Atlanta on the road in Utah, with the Hawks looking to bounce back from a 108-98 loss to the Blazers on Friday. The Jazz beat the Hornets 102-88 last time out. There are four other games on the NBA's Monday schedule, including Philadelphia at New Jersey, Indiana at New York, and Golden State at the Clippers, while the Hornets will play in Sacramento.
The march toward Madness . . .
The Sooners will try to rebound from a loss to rival Texas when they play host to Kansas on Monday night in a battle of ranked college hoops teams. Oklahoma dropped a 73-68 decision to Texas on Saturday night, with Willie Warren pouring in 27 points for the Sooners in a losing cause. That put Oklahoma at 25-2 straight-up and 13-9 against-the-spread on the season, while Kansas is at 22-5 SU and 15-6-1 ATS after beating Nebraska 70-53 in their meeting on Saturday.
The only other ranked team in action on Monday is Louisville, which will be taking on Georgetown at the Verizon Center. The Cardinals went to 21-5 SU and 16-10 ATS on the season with a 72-63 win over Cincinnati on Saturday; Terrence Williams poured in 20 points. The Hoyas sit at 14-11 SU and just 8-12-1 ATS heading into Monday's game; they were beaten 78-72 by Marquette on Saturday.

Taking a trip around the rink . . .
There is just one game on the National Hockey League's schedule for Monday night, with the Sharks in Dallas to take on the Stars. San Jose rolled to a 3-1 win over the Thrashers on Saturday afternoon, scoring three times in the third period to secure the victory. Evgeni Nabokov stopped 22 of 23 Atlanta shots. The Stars are coming off a 3-1 loss to the Blackhawks on Saturday, with Steve Ott providing the lone Dallas goal in the game. Marty Turco was good for 36 saves.
Rounding out the Roundup . . .
Anyone who picked up Tiger Woods at 2/1 odds on the Vegas futures list to win The Masters this season will be watching his performance closely this week. The world's top golfer has announced that he'll finally return to action at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship tournament at Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Arizona this week. That event gets underway on Wednesday, and Woods is the defending champ - he beat Stewart Cink 8 & 7 in the 2008 championship match.

The sportsbooks didn't set odds on the Oscar ratings or the Oscar fashions, but the overwhelming favorites won as expected. Now the entertainment and political betting odds can focus on the winner of American Idol or the gender of Angie Everhart's baby.
