Raiders vs. Cowboys Spread Pick Free

We cannot end your search for the Butterball turkey cooking times or how to view private Facebook profiles but for anyone searching for the best football picks, the rest of you life has begun.

Matt Rivers says take the Raiders plus the number at Dallas. They are getting 13.5 according to Bodog.

Could the Raiders implode with the best of them at anytime? Sure they could and especially against a Dallas team that can look like a world beater at times.

But I do not mind Oakland's defense with Nnamdi Asomugha shutting down half of the field and with Jamarcus Russell finally on the bench the Raiders are not the dreadful mess they were with Russell playing. Of course Bruce Gradkowski is no better than average and that is being kind but average is far better than Russell.

The Cowboys looked fairly gross in the 7-6 win last week at home against the Redskins. I won't take too much from that because I do expect Tony Romo and the Pokes to improve upon that performance but after two straight terrible games on offense (including the loss in Green Bay) I'm not so sure that Wade Phillips' squad is not mightily overated right now.

Dallas is still somewhat America's team and Oakland is still identified as the most inept franchise known to man. Neither assessment is wrong but I don't really believe the Cowboys are an elite team and we saw last week in the outright over Cincinnati how Oakland can be much improved with Gradkowski in at quarterback.

This won't be a fun game in backing the Raiders as they can lose it and get drilled at the drop of a hat but I'll make a small play and buy into them today in Big D plus this gargantuan price.
