Valparaiso came back with 39 points in the second half on Wednesday, and defeated Washington 72-71 in the opening round of the CBI tournament. Valaparaiso won the game as 10-point underdogs, but the 143 points fell UNDER the posted total of 145.

Urule Igbavboa tossed in 19 points for the Crusaders, while Bryan Bouchie and Brandon McPherson had 18 each in the win.

Houston managed to pull off an 80-79 victory over Nevada Tuesday night, in the first round of the CBI tournament. Houston won the game as a 4.5-point underdog, while the 159 points made it OVER the posted total of 156.

Rob McKiver led Houston with 22 points, and Dion Dowell added 17 in the win.
