Midwest Region NCAA Tournament Preview

The Midwest Region of the 2008 Men's College Basketball NCAA Tournament may be the most competitive as far as the oddsmakers are concerned. Five teams are within 10/1 betting odds to win the office pool bracket.

Top seed Kansas is even money to take home the region's top prize. The Georgetown Hoyas are next at 10/3. With a great inside game, the Hoyas may be primed to win it all. The sportsbooks don't find much difference among the top contenders as Wisconsin trails closely at 9/2.

Clemson, from the top heavy ACC is 15/2, while USC is 10/1. The Trojans improved late in the year as frosh O.J. Mayo peaked. They could be primed to knock off a higher seed.

Looking for a team to get upset early in your bracket pool? Vanderbilt is 14/1 despite being seeded fourth, which ahead of the aforementioned Clemson and USC.

CBS announcer Billy Packer has singled out Villanova as one of his dark horses. Should they equal their magic run of the Rollie Massimino and go to the Final 4, they will pay Wildcats backers 50/1.

Another popular dark horse Davidson checks in at 25/1.
