Today in the Daily Sports Roundup: The Celtics try to run their winning streak to 12 games, the Tar Heels take on the Terrapins, and the Penguins visit Montreal.
Tipping Off in the NBA
With their early-January swoon now well behind them the Celtics will be gunning for their 12th consecutive victory on Tuesday night when they play on the road against the Sixers. Boston improved to 40-9 straight-up and 28-21 against-the-spread on the season with a 109-101 win over Minnesota on Sunday, with Kevin Garnett sidelined for the game with the flu. Philadelphia fell 85-83 to New Jersey in their last contest, and they now sit at just 23-23 SU and 22-23-1 ATS this year.
A Western Conference clash between the Spurs and Nuggets in Denver highlights the rest of the NBA slate for Tuesday night. LeBron James and his Cavaliers will try to boost their lucrative 31-15 ATS record when they play host to the Raptors, while the Timberwolves will play in Indiana, and Chicago is at Houston. As well, the Nets round out the action for the night by hosting the Bucks.

The March to Madness
Coming off an easy 93-76 win over N.C. State, North Carolina will take the court in Chapel Hill on Tuesday night for a game against Maryland. Tyler Hansbrough picked up 31 points and six rebounds for the Tar Heels in their win over the Wolfpack, which put them at 19-2 SU and 10-10 ATS on the season. The Terrapins (14-7 SU, 7-6-2 ATS) are coming off a 73-68 win over the Hurricanes.
Marquette will head to Rosemont to meet lowly DePaul on Tuesday night, while Ohio State hosts Purdue, and Kentucky gets a visit from Mississippi State. As well, struggling Georgetown will try to get back on track against Rutgers. The Hoyas have now lost five games in a row to sit at 12-8 SU and 6-9-1 ATS on the season. The Scarlet Knights (10-12 SU, 9-7 ATS) beat DePaul in their last game.
A Trip Around the Rink
Evgeni Malkin and the Penguins will try to add to the Canadiens' woes on Tuesday night when they arrive in Montreal for a 7:30pm ET puck drop. The Habs lost 3-1 to rival Boston on Sunday afternoon, and they also lost key center Robert Lang indefinitely with a serious achilles injury. The Penguins are coming off a wild 5-4 loss to the Maple Leafs on Saturday night to end January 24-22-5.
Alexander Ovechkin had a hat trick against the Senators in a 7-4 Capitals win on Sunday; he'll take his show to New Jersey to play the Devils on Tuesday. Also on the NHL's slate for the night: St. Louis at Columbus, Tampa Bay at the Islanders, Florida at Toronto, Los Angeles at Ottawa, Phoenix at Nashville, Atlanta at the Rangers, Chicago at Edmonton, Calgary at Dallas, and Carolina at Vancouver.
Rounding Out the Slate
If you bet on the Steelers in Super Bowl XLIII on Sunday night you saw them blow their chance to cover the posted spread in the fourth quarter of the OVER result. That means you only have one more chance to make up for that lost NFL cash this season: The Pro Bowl. The annual NFC/AFC matchup is set to kick off at 4:30pm ET on Sunday from Hawaii, with wagering lines trickling out this week.
