No way can I trust Ozzie Guillen's White Sox but it's not like the Cubs are on any higher footing. Let's be honest here, both of these teams, the south siders and north siders, are complete and utter garbage and two of the most inept and underachieving clubs in the major leagues right now.
The Sox and Cubs both had fairly high hopes this season and were clubs that had the upside and potential to make some noise. But after about 10 weeks of the season it is pretty apparent that, despite having some individual talent, collectively these squads are not good and well below. 500 type teams.
Jake Peavy is not the same guy from his days with the Padres but he still is a guy that can bring it and back in a National League ballpark can be nothing but a good thing. Peavy is up against a Cubs lineup that has been anemic at times and with Aramis Ramirez on the dl and Derrek Lee along with Alfonso Soriano living up to very little I can't help but believe that Peavy will be alright here facing a weak lineup that includes an opposing pitcher.
I like Randy Wells and the righty should hold his own against Paul Konerko and eh but to get anything back here in this spot, even at Wrigley Field is more than enough.
These are just two bad teams with solid hurlers and in the end one swing of the bat or one lucky bounce of the ball will determine the winner. This thing is as 50-50 as they could ever come leading me to be just fine with this underdog price on the fighting Guillen's.
