NBA Free Picks: Cavs vs. Nets, Underdog Covers Says Matt Rivers

Matt Rivers has an NBA pick on the Cleveland Cavaliers (+8.5) at New Jersey.

If somebody stops me on the street and asks who the worst team in the entire NBA is at this point I would have no choice at all but to say it's Cleveland. Byron Scott's team is an absolute pile of dog doo that has been victorious in a whole one game over the past few months, literally. It's been beyond dreadful ever since LeBron came back with his new team and whacked his old team. Nothing at all has gone right since the early decent first few weeks to the season.

But with the above said the still pretty bad Nets can't be laying a number like this to anybody and that includes the Cavs. Cleveland may be 8-35 overall including 3-21 on the road and have dropped 16 straight along with 26 of their last 27 games but New Jersey as the almost double digit dog is just silly. The Cavs will win a game or two in the near future and even some on the road and this is one of the better spots for that to take place. Jamison, Mo Williams and a few others guys are not inept and even though these guys aren't playing well, actually that's the understatement of the year I guess, it's still way too much of a number for a New Jersey team that was almost just broken up in order to get Carmelo Anthony. New Jersey isn't good to begin with and I can't exactly see the culture of this organization very high right now.

Devin Harris and Brook Lopez are quality players and the boys from the Meadowlands are much better than last season but all in all certain teams can just never be laying a big number and these Nets are the epitome of just that.

Top expert pick: Matt Rivers says I will head into the final game of the football season on a 12-4 pigskin run. Certainly nothing I can sneeze about but losing da Bears wasn't fun. Still a great season that is about to end on a 13-4 run in just a few weeks. But that is then and we have a lot more now to come including a pair of winners from the Association tonight. 300,000* Oklahoma City-New Orleans plus a 200,000* between Houston and Minnesota. Two plays, two winners, no problems! Click now to purchase
