Florida-UCLA

Associated Press

Two years removed from the school’s first back-to-back losing seasons in 55 years, these Bruins might be the best defensive team in the country. This group of seven underclassmen and two seniors is all about blocked shots, rebounding and steals. UCLA (32-6) has held its five opponents to 37 percent from the floor in the NCAA tournament, while Florida’s opponents have shot 34 percent.

Herald Tribune

The Florida basketball team has shrugged off whatever defenses opponents have tried to use to slow it down during its run to tonight’s championship game. Villanova tried to keep the Gators from scoring from the outside by not helping out on defense against Florida’s big men and paid for it. George Mason had players double down in an attempt to help out against Joakim Noah and Al Horford, and the Gators beat the Patriots from the outside.
