Pistons-Raptors

USA Today

Having clinched home-court advantage throughout the playoffs on a night off, the Detroit Pistons look to notch the winningest season in franchise history as they visit the Toronto Raptors. While the Pistons were idle Thursday, they wrapped up at least a tie for the best record in the league when the San Antonio Spurs lost 92-80 to the Orlando Magic. That defeat guaranteed Detroit the home-court edge in every round of the postseason because it swept the season series with San Antonio. One more victory for the Pistons would give them a single-season team record, surpassing the 63 wins they had in 1988-99 en route to winning the first of two straight NBA titles. The Raptors are mired in a 10-game losing streak, which started when All-Star forward Chris Bosh suffered a season-ending thumb injury on March 26.

Bobcats-Hawks

Charlotte Observer

The Bobcats canceled practice Thursday, trying to save what is left of their bodies for the final four games. They've already lost Emeka Okafor, Sean May and Bernard Robinson, and Brevin Knight was a last-minute scratch against Memphis because of a groin strain.

Knight's status tonight will be a game-time decision, based on how well he can loosen up before the game.

Philadelphia-Miami

USA Today

The Philadelphia 76ers look to continue their push for an Eastern Conference playoff spot when they try to knock off a division winner for the second straight game in a matchup with the Miami Heat. The 76ers are tied with the Chicago Bulls for eighth place in the conference, and trail Indiana and Milwaukee, tied for sixth, by one game. Philadelphia is also only two behind fifth-place Washington. The Sixers kept the pressure on the teams in front of them Wednesday night, routing the Atlantic Division-champion New Jersey Nets 116-96 on the road. Allen Iverson had 40 points and 10 assists to lead Philadelphia, which remained tied with Chicago for the eighth spot.
