NBA

Pistons-Bucks

Associated Press

Young Milwaukee needed postseason experience, with five Bucks playing significant postseason minutes for the first time. Now, they’ve got to learn how to win, and quickly. The Pistons, with 50 playoff games since 2004, have answered every change Milwaukee has made so far. The Bucks said that their best chance in the series was to push the tempo. The Pistons have outscored them 49-27 in transition. The Pistons are shooting 46 percent to Milwaukee’s 39 percent clip, and are averaging 8 ½ more assists a game.

Mavericks-Grizzlies

KRT

The Mavs took a commanding 2-0 lead with Wednesday’s 94-79 victory in Game 2. No team in NBA history has rallied from a 3-0 deficit. On top of that, the Grizzlies have yet to win a playoff game in 10 tries.

Clippers-Nuggets

Associated Press

The Nuggets were outshot by the Los Angeles Clippers for the third straight game, missed everything they threw up from 3-point range and watched star Carmelo Anthony again have trouble deciphering double teams. Yet, their 94-87 win over the Los Angeles Clippers snapped a six-game skid and allows them the opportunity to tie their best-of-seven series Saturday night at the Pepsi Center. The Nuggets have yet to shoot better than 40 percent in this series.

Orange County Register

Denver was 0 of 11 on three-point tries and missed 14 free throws. But the Nuggets were facing a desperate situation. No team in NBA history ever has come back to win a playoff series, after losing the first three games. Clippers center Chris Kaman was not much of a factor. Playing on a very sore right ankle that he injured in Game2, Kaman did not score his first field goal until just over two minutes left in the game. He finished with two points and four rebounds in 29 minutes. Another hobbled Clipper was guard Cuttino Mobley, who was bothered by a groin-muscle strain. Mobley was 0 of 4 in the first half, made 3 of 4 shots in the third quarter, including a pair of three-pointers.
