Bo Dog Continues to Pay On Time, So Let's Keep Winning Bets

It’s the Fiesta Bowl pitting West Virginia and Oklahoma. For those sports bettors who are not satisfied with your winnings so far, here is a sports betting preview.

West Virginia is 10-2 straight up after closing out the year with a stunning loss to Pittsburgh in the Backyard Brawl. The Sooners are 11-2 straight up but had a very streaky year against the spread. They finished the year covering their final two, but are only 3-6 their last nine to the sportsbooks.

Pat White and Steve Slaton lead a powerful Mountaineer offense that gets 6.0 yards per rush against teams normally allowing 4.1 and 7.7 yards per pass against teams normally allowing 6.8.

While California University of PA is best known for producing superstar sports handicappers (clears throat), they also manufacture some outstanding football coaches such as WVU defensive coordinator Jeff Castell. Under his direction, the Mountaineers allow just 3.0 yards per rush against teams normally getting 3.9 as well as just 6.3 yards per pass to teams normally getting 7.2.

But they have not faced a team as powerful as the Sooners. Oklahoma accumulates 9.2 yards per pass to defenses that normally allow just 7.3 and 6.5 yards per play to 5.7. Not afraid to bring eight defenders into the box, they also stymie teams to just 2.8 yards per rush, having faced teams normally averaging 4.2  Oklahoma holds foes to a full yard per play below their season average to date.
