NCAA Football Betting - Hurricanes In For A Wakeup Call

Everyone's main focus is NFL betting but the college card presents a couple of really good games this weekend. Starting on Thursday, we'll have an exciting contest between Ole Miss and South Carolina and then on Saturday, there will be a number of feature games in the sportsbook.

One of the games at the top of everyone's list will be the Miami Hurricanes and Virginia Tech Hokies contest. Very quietly, the ACC has seen a resurgence this year, mostly because of the Miami Hurricanes. The 'Canes were expected to be a mid-tier ACC outfit and many people pegged them to be 0-4 to start the year, considering their difficult schedule. By the time their through with their first four games, the Hurricanes will have played four consecutive Top 25 teams. So far, so good.

The Hurricanes beat Florida State to start the year and it wasn't an easy win. That game took place in Talahassee, which is never an easy game for anyone. A lot of people making their sports picks assumed they'd lose that game, then they'd lose the game against Georgia Tech, but it's been the complete opposite.

The Hurricanes finally look like a strong team, thanks to the quarterbacking of Jacory Harris. We knew the team had talent but they had to get a taste of winning before we could consider them reliable. Now that they've done that, everyone is hopping on the bandwagon.

There is no question that the Hurricanes have been impressive this year but let's be honest, this is not a BCS Championship contender. The Hurricanes are back and they are an ACC contender, but they still have to prove some more before we buy into them.

The Hurricanes are overrated at this point and they are going to get a wakeup call on Saturday. The ACC still goes through Virginia Tech and they are going to learn about that the hard way.

While the Hokies didn't get pimpslapped by Alabama, they did bounce back with a win at home against Nebraska last week. Their running game offers two dangerous options and Tyrod Taylor is starting to find his groove.

The Hokies are still the best team in the ACC and that will be on display this week. They are a three-point home underdog and they'll win this contest outright.
