The Braves will be looking to keep their playoff hopes alive on Monday night when they open a home series against the Marlins. Jair Jurrjens (13-10, 2.70 ERA) will get the ball for
Atlanta in that contest, while Anibal Sanchez (3-7, 4.01 ERA) is slated to start for Florida. Righthander Jurrjens has picked up the win in each of his last three starts, allowing just two earned runs over 22 innings of work. Righthander Sanchez blanked the Phillies over eight innings last time out.

Over in the American League the battle for the AL Central crown gets started on Monday night, with Minnesota at Detroit. The Twins send Nick Blackburn (11-11, 4.18 ERA) to the mound to open that crucial series, while the Tigers will turn to Rick Porcello (14-9, 4.14 ERA). Righthander Blackburn pitched seven scoreless innings against the White Sox last time out, allowing eight hits in the win. Righthander Porcello beat the Indians (one run over five innings) in his last start.

Also on the AL slate for Monday: the White Sox at Cleveland, Kansas City at the Yankees, Baltimore at Tampa Bay, Toronto at Boston, and Texas at the Angels. Meanwhile, there are just three other games on tap in the National League on Monday, with the Mets at Washington, the Dodgers at Pittsburgh, and Houston at Philadelphia. Cole Hamels (10-9, 4.11 ERA) will get the ball on Monday for East-leading Philly; lefthander Hamels is 2-0 with a no-decision in his last three starts.
