The Wizards are perfectly fine without selfish gunner Gilbert Arenas. Washington always matches up well to Detroit winning two straight and 5-of-7 in the series. The Wizards are off their biggest win of the year and they were able to play Antawn Jamison a season low in minutes. Why? Oh you think the fact that hosting Detroit in the next game had nothing to do with it? Think again.
A key for the Wizards all season has been an improved defensive approach that has allowed them to stay in games on nights when Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison aren't scoring at a high rate or when the team's shooting is off.
The Wizards are allowing 98.4 points per game, 6.5 points less than they allowed last season. That is the second-greatest improvement in the league so far this season.
This game goes down to the wire. Detroit wins but nobody beats the Wiz against the spread tonight.
