I will admit that I could not pull the trigger on a premium play simply because this is a battle of two up-and-coming offenses.  But neither offense is "there" yet and most importantly it falls into one of our sports betting golden rules.

Nothing affects defensive statistics than the ball control ability of the offense. Arizona's head coach Ken Whisenhunt and assistant head coach Russ Grimm both came from the Pittsburgh Steelers and the offensive side of the ball.

They are converting Arizona to the same ball control keep the defense off the field mentality. What this means is even if Arizona's offense is the most improved in the NFL, it could mean fewer points and yards.  The improvement will show up on the defensive statistics, because defenses always perform when they are off the field.

While both offenses will have their ups and downs due to youth, the spotlight of Monday Night Football and the fact it's early in the year, tells us that each offense will struggle tonight.

The 49ers are led by smash mouth running back Frank Gore, who eats up the clock.  So each offense could play very well, yet with such a high total, still go under.
