Thursday Sports Betting News and Notes

Thursday, September 06, 2007

Top sports service plays for tonight’s football are at MasterLockLine.com

Here are news and notes from OffshoreInsiders.com  private clipboard.  They are compiled from hometown newspapers and the team’s own press releases.

Colts-Saints

When these teams met last, Sept. 28, 2003, it was the highest scoring game in the Peyton Manning era. Manning threw for six touchdowns, despite not playing in the fourth quarter, in a 55-21 rout.

While the biggest question mark of the Indianapolis remains their porous defense, their high powered offense is not without concerns. At left tackle, Indy starts rookie Tony Ugoh.

Though elite sports handicappers warn against taking preseason results too seriously, many will note that the maligned Saints defense was ranked second in the exhibition session.

Indianapolis is very thin at running back with little proven talent behind Joseph Addai. However, they come out of preseason unscathed injury-wise with only reserve offensive tackle Charlie Johnson slowed by an injury.

Oregon State-Cincinnati

It looks like Oregon State will start sophomore Sean Canfield at quarterback. However, Lyle Moevao is going to play at some point, though unlike last week, no specific rotation is set.

Against Utah, Canfield was 8-for-19 for 87 yards, a touchdown and a pick. Moevao was 3-for-9 for 32 yards and an interception.

The bad news for the Beavers is that preseason All-American guard Jeremy Perry is out six weeks after suffering a lower leg injury to Utah. Junior Adam Speer makes only his second start in place of the All Pac-10 first team pick from last year.

Middle Tennessee State-Louisville

MTSU is off a lackluster 27-14 loss to Florida Atlantic. The Red Raiders are the only team in the country to play a pair of Top 10 teams in the first three weeks of the season. It gets no easier as their next contest is at LSU.

To make matters worse, the Cardinals had two extra days to prepare following a Thursday night tune-up in which they annihilated Murray State
