This is a classic example of "listen to what the oddsmakers are telling you…use their knowledge against them." They have not been a conference chalk in a decade, but there is a reason for sure.
The oddsmakers know they have not won a conference game straight up since 2004, yet made them a TD favorite. They are the only BCS team that has not won a conference game the last two years.
This is a Duke team playing at home in the conference opener against an inferior team. It's the closest they will have to a Cameron Indoor Stadium atmosphere.
Again, newbies may raise an eyebrow if they have not seen us exploit this theory before, but the fact a team is a seven-point conference favorite yet with a 25-game winning streak tells us this game is so big for Duke, it's virtually impossible for Virginia to keep up with the intensity of a team playing their biggest home game in many years.
