Chargers-Seahawks Predictions, Picks, Betting Line

Bodog has the Chargers -3 with a total of 36 on their football betting lines. 

Jim Mora Jr. will be in his first game as head coach for the Seahawks, but he was assistant head coach for Mike Holmgrem and was previously the head man in Atlanta, so the "new coach theory" may not apply so much here.

Seattle is very thin on the offensive line. LT Walter Jones is out, LG Mike Wahle retired because of a shoulder injury, RG Mansfield Wrotto is also out and C Chris Spencer just returned from a sprained ankle.

Seahawks starting QB Matt Hasselbeck will see a series or two as he returns from a back injury. Mobile QB Seneca Wallace will see "considerable time" and Mike Teel will also play late behind center.

"With Seattle having a new offensive coordinator and San Diego's blitzing style, it could be a long night for the Seahawks offensive line," says Cy McCormick of the MasterLockLine, which has the top sports service NFL picks.

Seattle has a lot of young and unproven receivers though they have looked well in camp. Because there is so much competition at wideout, there may be an air attack from Mora according the Covers Experts handicappers.

Chargers superstar LaDainian Tomlinson rarely plays in the preseason, but says there is a 95-percent chance he will start. Head coach Norv Turner said he won't make that decision until before game time.

Turner did say he told his starters to plan on playing the entire first half, though many will not play the entire half. Turner wants his team to start the regular season better so expect him to emphasize preseason more.

San Diego will be without first round pick Larry English and starting LB Stephen Cooper.
