On the American League schedule for Wednesday it'll be the White Sox at Cleveland, Texas at Kansas City, Detroit at Seattle, Oakland at Baltimore, Toronto at the Angels, the Yankees at Minnesota, and Boston at Tampa Bay. The Red Sox are expected to send John Lackey (4-3, 5.07 ERA) to the mound on Wednesday, while the Rays counter with Matt Garza (5-2, 2.37 ERA). Righthander Lackey was pounded by Tampa Bay in a loss back on April 19, surrendering eight earned runs on nine hits over his 3 1-3 innings of work. Righthander Garza blanked the Red Sox in a win back on April 18, allowing just four hits and two walks over his eight innings while fanning five batters.
The National League on Wednesday offers up Atlanta at Florida, Philadelphia at the Mets, Pittsburgh at Cincinnati, the Dodgers at the Cubs, Houston at Milwaukee, St. Louis at San Diego, Washington at San Francisco, and Arizona at Colorado. The Diamondbacks' Rodrigo Lopez (2-2, 4.42 ERA) will try to get the better of the Rockies' Ubaldo Jimenez (8-1, 0.99 ERA) in that last matchup. Righthander Lopez picked up a no-decision against the Giants last time out, giving up six runs over just five innings. Righthander Jimenez has already beaten Arizona once this season, holding them scoreless on two hits over six innings of work on April 27. Jimenez fanned six that day.
