World Cup Betting Previews

Nothing is more exciting than the World Cup and OffshoreInsiders.com "Sportsbook of the Year" winner Bodog presents some betting previews of the Beautiful Game.

The Group E exacta offers much more variety in terms of truly viable options than most groups do in World Cup 2010 prop betting since Cameroon and Denmark are so close. The difference is so negligible that both nations have equal value at 14 to 5 to finish second behind Holland.

The Dutch are a virtual lock to survive the group stage and any exacta that has them finishing third or worse has at least 20 to 1 odds (Cameroon/Denmark). Japan is 6 to 1 to finish second behind Holland; that exacta prop is only possible if Japan beats one of Cameroon and Denmark and those two nations draw each other and lose to Germany.

Chances are the Holland/Denmark finish will get the most wagers after Cameroon disappointed at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Group E World Cup soccer betting features one team really gaining steam as the tournament approaches: Holland.

The Dutch have reasonable value at 11 to 1 to win the World Cup and are favored to win Group E at -162. Arguably, no team was more dominant in qualifying, as Holland went 8-0 and outscored its opponents 17-2.

The second berth seems fairly wide open. Cameroon (+425) and Denmark (+450) are a toss up, though Japan really brings up the rear at +1200 to win Group E. It's somewhat surprising to see that Cameroon has better odds than Denmark; after all, the Danes upset Portugal (scoring three goals) and beat Sweden during qualifying. Soren Larsen will need to keep up his hot play; he had five qualifier goals.

The Group D exacta is close but the books favor a Germany/Serbia finish at 11 to 4 over a Germany/Ghana top two at 7 to 2. Predictably, all favored permutations have Germany at least cracking the top two, with the biggest longshot involving them being a second-place finish with Australia winning the group (16 to 1).

The general line of thinking is that Germany is just too deep and too experienced not to reach the Round of 16. The exacta for World Cup 2010 prop betting clearly shows, however, that Serbia and Ghana are a coin flip. Perhaps Serbia's slight edge on offense and Michael Essien's injury are what give Serbia the slight edge in odds.

Wondering if both Serbia and Ghana can shock Germany? A Serbia/Ghana top two is 16 to 1 and a Ghana/Serbia finish has 20 to 1 odds.
