Righthander Garza beat the Royals in his last trip to the mound, surrendering one earned run on five hits over six innings while fanning nine. Lefthander Lee made his season debut against the Rangers last week, holding them scoreless on three hits over seven innings while striking out eight.

Lefthander Robertson was beaten by the Padres in his last start, giving up five earned runs on five hits over four innings.

Finally, there are two NHL playoff games on the schedule for Wednesday, with Boston at Philadelphia and Chicago at Vancouver. The Bruins took a 2-0 lead in their Eastern Conference semifinal series with a 3-2 home win in Game 2 on Monday night. Milan Lucic had the winner for the Bruins in that contest, while Tuukka Rask stopped 24 of 26 Philly shots. The Blackhawks tied up their Western Conference semifinal series with the Canucks at 1-1 with a 4-2 comeback win at home on Monday night. Brent Seabrook had a goal and two assists for Chicago in Monday's win, and Antti Niemi made 24 saves on the day.
