Kansas-Iowa State

Kansas City Star

A victory against the Cyclones would put the Jayhawks one win from becoming bowl eligible for the second straight season.

Alabama-Mississippi State

Decatur Daily

Magically, several Alabama players who were hurt the past few weeks are feeling better. Quarterback John Parker Wilson ran off the practice field Wednesday. While his ankle was heavily taped, he showed no real evidence of a limp. “I just think he felt better,” Shula said. “When he got hit in the game, maybe it wasn’t as bad as we initially thought. He’s a tough guy, too.” Receiver Keith Brown (knee) and offensive lineman B.J. Stabler (knee) also practiced. Shula said he is hoping to have them back for the Mississippi State game.

LSU-Tennessee

Chicago Sun Times

Injured Tennessee quarterback Erik Ainge practiced more on Thursday, but coach Phillip Fulmer is not sure how long his starter would be able to play on his sprained right ankle against No. 13 LSU on Saturday. His backup is Jonathan Crompton, a redshirt freshman who has played sparingly this season. “Erik did practically everything [in practice]. I’d say it looks like he’s going to be able to play,” Fulmer said.
