Toledo-Bowling Green

Chicago Sports

The Huskies have had 10 days to heal from their non-conference loss at Iowa. They will also get a chance to showcase tailback Garrett Wolfe on ESPN2 before a national audience. NIU will have another 10-day hiatus before its final home game with Central Michigan. Toledo’s 11-game winning streak against NIU ended a year ago. Novak is just 1-8 against the Rockets. Toledo lost its way after splitting its first two games but ended a four-game losing streak 10 days ago. Freshman quarterback Aaron Opelt is starting to feel comfortable and receiver Steve Odom has caught passes in 46 straight games—the longest streak in the nation. Toledo coach Tom Amstutz is 4-1 against the Huskies and could be good for a trick play or two. Chicago Sun-Times

A long stretch of preparation heads for the shed today as Northern Illinois gets set to host Toledo on Tuesday night. The Huskies have been off since losing 24-14 at Iowa nine days ago. They met the day after their return from Iowa City, were off last Monday and Tuesday, then resumed practice on Wednesday. The Rockets also have been idle since snapping a four-game losing streak with a 35-20 victory over Akron on Oct. 28. Hawks-Cavaliers

WANE

The Cleveland Cavaliers will try to shake off a lackluster performance when they host the Atlanta Hawks tonight. The Cavs shot just 38 percent from the floor and committed 19 turnovers while losing to the Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday night. Tonight they’ll be facing a Hawks team that, like the Bobcats, has a lot of young talent. Both the Cavs and Hawks have started the season with two wins in their first three games. The Hawks are looking for their first road win of the season. MasterLockLine.com has the top plays from the top sports service in their highest ranked sports.

76ers-Pacers

Tuscaloosa Times

Allen Iverson has averaged 34.0 points in leading Philadelphia to its first 3-0 start since it went a franchise-best 10-0 in 2000-01 - a season that ended with the Sixers in the NBA Finals. The Pacers (2-1), searching for their first home victory, have not played since a 109-95 victory at New York on Saturday. O’Neal had only 17 points, but Al Harrington broke out of an early slump with 32 points on 14-of-24 shooting. Approved sportsbooks are at www.linetrackers.com

Sonics-Heat

Tuscaloosa Times

The Miami Heat hope to have Shaquille O’Neal back in the lineup Tuesday when they host the high-scoring Seattle SuperSonics. There were some concerns surrounding the defending champion Heat after they didn’t make any significant changes to an aging roster in the offseason, and on Friday, Miami suffered its first major injury of the season when O’Neal bruised his left knee in a win over New Jersey. O’Neal sat out Sunday’s 107-98 loss at Philadelphia and was expected to have X-rays when the team returned to Miami. The 34-year-old center missed 23 games last season when he averaged career lows of 20.0 points and 9.2 rebounds. “Not having Shaq (Sunday) changed our whole game plan,” Heat coach Pat Riley said. “We were a little surprised that before the game we found out he wasn’t going to play.” Miami has lost two of its first three games this season, including a 42-point defeat to Chicago in its opener last week. Miami averaged 116.0 points in winning both matchups against Seattle last season. The Heat have won eight of the last 13 in this series after losing 20 of the first 23 meetings. Timberwolves-Laker

Star Tribune

For all the disappointment of last season, the series against the Lakers was a bright spot; the Wolves went 3-1, the only conference rival they beat three times. But Los Angeles got off to quick start this season, winning three games before a 117-101 loss at Seattle on Sunday. The Wolves are 11-7 in their past 18 regular-season meetings with the Lakers. Overall, they are 20-46. Forward Kwame Brown (rotator cuff), Center Chris Mihm (ankle surgery rehab) and guard Aaron McKie (disc inflammation) are out for Los Angeles. Forwards Vladimir Radmanovic (sore hand) and Luke Walton (groin strain) are expected to play. MasterLockLine.com has the top plays from the top sports service in their highest ranked sports.
