SEATTLE +2.5 Cleveland
Cleveland is in the middle of a stretch where they play 9-of-10 games on the road including seven straight. Ironically the fact that they have had two days rest works against them because they had been playing well, something they have not done much on the road this year. So the rest takes them out of their groove.
Seattle is a better home team than Cleveland road. Meanwhile, rest helps them because their play has been so-so at best. They have had three days to prepare for this one.
Also our sources in Seattle expect a rare buzz in the Pacific Northwest tonight. For tonight’s game at KeyArena, James shares top billing on the marquee with Sonics All-Star Ray Allen, who is coming off a career-best scoring performance in which he carried Seattle to a thrilling overtime victory against Utah on Friday.
While Allen’s national profile is nowhere near James’ skyrocketing fame, his 54-point night could re-energize a sagging local fan base, which may rediscover Seattle’s only major professional sports team currently playing games now that the Seahawks have been eliminated from the NFL playoffs.
