Orlando is starting to work former Duke star J.J. Redick into the rotation, after he spent most of the first 20 games on the bench. Grant Hill is being held out of some practices and games to try to protect his health.

The Wiz have stabilized since a rocky 4-9 start to the campaign with an impressive 14-4 record in their last 18 games

Sixers-Timberwolves

Philadelphia Inquirer

Whether Joe Smith starts tonight at the Target Center against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Sixers’ final stop on their seven-game, 12-day road trip, depends on whether Webber can run without pain. But after having played in only 11 of 23 games for Denver before the trade, he’s enjoying life with his new team.

Celtics-Grizzlies

Boston Globe

This is the second of two meetings. The Celtics erased a 17-point fourth-quarter deficit but fell in the final seconds at home, 98-96, Dec. 6. The Grizzlies are coming off a 144-135 victory over Golden State Wednesday, setting a franchise record for points .. Grizzlies interim coach Tony Barone is 2-1 since taking over for the fired Mike Fratello Dec. 28 .
