Dayton 500 Betting Odds

Dale Earnhardt Jr.is the betting favorite to win the 2008 Dayton 500. However, Little E is far from prohibitive at 4/1. Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart and Jimmie Johnson are all at 5/1. They are trailed by Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin each at 10/1, Kurt Busch at 15/1, and Mark Martin, Martin Truex Jr., and Matt Kenseth at 20/1.

Could this be the race in which Mark Martin finally goes to the winners circle? His nine top-10 finishes include a close second place last year, yet he still has not gotten the title of Daytona 500 Champion.

Kyle Petty, Bobby Labonte, Jeff Burton, Joe Nemechek and Jeremy Mayfield all have been in at least a dozen Daytona 500s without winning it. Petty will be making his 27th try.

According to sports betting expert Joe Duffy of GodsTips, anchor of OffshoreInsiders.com, the computer simulator offers no great long shot, though "Clint Bowyer is projected to finish sixth, so he is a strong bet in most head-to-head match-ups that the sportsbooks would offer."

In fact, BetUs will likely have individual match-ups posted as they did for Saturday's Camping World 300.
