Colliding in the Junior Circuit  . . .

Mark Buehrle (11-4, 3.45 ERA) will be trying to pitch the White Sox to a win over the Yankees on Sunday afternoon when he takes the mound at home against CC Sabathia (10-7, 3.83 ERA). Lefthander Buehrle followed up his perfect game by giving up five earned runs over 6 1-3 innings in a loss to the Twins last time out. Lefthander Sabathia is also coming off a losing effort; he surrendered six runs (five earned) on nine hits over 5 2-3 innings against the Rays on Tuesday night.

Also on the American League schedule for Sunday: Detroit at Cleveland, Boston at Baltimore, Kansas City at Tampa Bay, Toronto at Oakland, Seattle at Texas, and the Angels at Minnesota. Los Angeles will send Jered Weaver (10-3, 3.71 ERA) to the mound in that last matchup; the righthander last picked up a win on July 11, but the team is 5-0 in his last five starts. The Twins will counter with lefthander Glen Perkins (6-6, 5.42 ERA), who beat the White Sox in his last start.

Clashing in the Senior Circuit . . .

It'll be Chad Billingsley (10-6, 3.96 ERA) vs. Jair Jurrjens (9-7, 2.69 ERA) as the Dodgers take on the Braves in Atlanta on ESPN's primetime matchup. Righthander Billingsley was knocked around by the Cardinals in his last start, giving up six earned runs over 5 2-3 innings of work in a loss. Righthander Jurrjens took a no-decision against the Marlins last time out after allowing two earned runs in six innings; Jurrjens had won each of his previous three outings.

Elsewhere on the NL slate for Sunday it's Colorado at Cincinnati, Arizona at the Mets, Washington at Pittsburgh, Houston at St. Louis, Milwaukee at San Diego, the Cubs at Florida, and Philadelphia at San Francisco. Cole Hamels (7-5, 4.42 ERA) is Philly's pitcher for Sunday; the lefthander is 3-0 with two no-decisions in his last five outings, with his team winning all those games. Barry Zito (6-10, 4.54 ERA) goes for the Giants; he's allowed only two runs over his last 12 2-3 innings.

Roaring around the track . . .

Tony Stewart is pegged as the 4/1 Vegas favorite to win Sunday's Sprint Cup Series event, the Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono Raceway. Stewart won the Pocono 500 on that track earlier this season, and he holds a 192-point lead on Jimmie Johnson in the driver standings heading into the race. Johnson, who took the checkered flag at Indianapolis Motor Speedway last week, is next on the list at 5/1 odds to win the Pennsylvania 500. Jeff Gordon and Carl Edwards are pegged at 7/1, with Denny Hamlin and Mark Martin at 10/1

Rounding out the Roundup . . .

Finally, the WNBA has just two games on the schedule for Sunday, with Connecticut at Detroit and Indiana at Washington. The Fever have won two straight games, which moved them to 14-4 straight-up and 11-7 against-the-spread on the season (tops in the Eastern Conference). The Mystics, who are trying to catch Indiana in the conference standings, are coming off a 78-75 win over New York in their last game. Washington is 10-8 SU and 11-6-1 ATS so far.
