If the Golden Bears truly are the best team in the dreadfully pathetic Pac 10, which I think they are, then they should come through tonight at the Galen Center.
Mike Montgomery's squad lost a tough game over the weekend in Arizona. The Bears had that game as they were up in the final minute or so but just could not close the deal and watched their three game winning streak go by the boards. They get another chance here to take back supremacy of the conference against a decent but far from great USC team.
Kevin O'Neill's squad is alright and probably have been a little better overall than most thought they would be after all of the scandals and issues that Tim Floyd left the team with. Lewis and Vucevic are good ballplayers but let's be honest here, Jerome Randle is the best player on the court as he usually is and should do enough to will his superior team to this victory.
The Trojans had that brilliant eight game winning streak but lately things have not been all that as they have dropped two straight, three of four and five of their last seven. It's funny how USC has high quality wins but then they have mind scratching losses. That tells me that you can really never go gaga in a game they are in because you never truly know but it also tells me that the Trojans are a little too young and inconsistent to beat a Cal team that is probably the best in the conference.
Randle, Christopher and Robertson form too much of an experienced and talented nucleus that are a bit cheap here and therefore a small play for me.
