Indy will be without several key players, among them cornerback Marlin Jackson, along with Pro Bowl safety Bob Sanders and defensive tackle Dan Klecko, did not travel with the Colts. The Colts are allowing an NFL-worst 5.3 per carry, which is not good for a huge road favorite. The Jets are a bit undervalued because they are so much better coached than they have been in previous years.
Of course the return to health of their star quarterback has not hurt. Pennington ranks fourth in the NFL in passer rating (103.4), ahead of such luminaries as the Colts’ Peyton Manning (96.6) and Cincinnati’s Carson Palmer (92.9).
Pennington has thrown for 808 yards and five touchdowns with only one interception.
