Thursday is an Awesome Night to Be a Couch Potato

Thursday is an Awesome Night to Be a Couch Potato

Are you ready for some winning football? It’s a college/NFL night Thursday, built for multiple TVs or a remote control, pizza, beer, more pizza, and more beer.  Oh and most importantly it’s imperative to make sure you charge the pizza, televisions, beer and more beer to the sportsbooks.  Here is some key information for pointspread betting for the Thursday night card.

Dolphins-Steelers

As if the football loving fans of the Steele City needed any additional reason to be raucous, they get to greet the Super Bowl champion Steelers to open the NFL season against rebuilt Miami.

However, Pittsburgh will be minus all-world quarterback Ben Roethlisberger as the Tom Brady like co-king of efficient, mistake free signal calling is out because of an emergency appendectomy.

Ironically Big Ben’s first NFL start was against Miami, a 13-3 Steelers victory.  It was the first of 27 wins in Roethlisberger’s 31 starts.  His replacement is journeymen Charlie Batch, who posted a 19-27 mark as a starter in Detroit, though he was 2-for-2 starting in place of an injured Roethlisberger last year.

Forensic handicapping founder Stevie Vincent one of OffshoreInsiders.com experts, notes that the series has gone under five straight and Pittsburgh is on and 0-7 spread skid as a favorite of three points or less.

Oregon State-Boise

For those betting the moneyline, one should note that Boise is a stunning 46-2 SU in their last 48 on the famed blue turf.  According to Cy McCormick of the online betting syndicate MasterLockLine.com, there are legitimate reasons a handicapper should think blue surface when trying to win green.  “They wear blue uniforms to camouflage themselves on the blue turf. There is both a real and physiological advantage”

Boise is also not going to be intimidated by playing in front of a national TV audience as they are a sensational 9-1 at home straight up on ESPN or ESPN2.

However the Pac 10 has done well against the Broncos as Boise has won only once in their last 11 tries to their big brother conference. The win though was to these same Beavers, two years ago in the same location.

For any late breaking injury, weather and other information, JoeDuffy.net has it 24/7.
