WEST VIRGINIA -1 Connecticut
Connecticut is on my all cupcake team baby. Their most impressive win all year was at home to St. Mary’s. They have not played a road or even neutral game all year. They play a defense that allows a nation’s best 49.4 points per game. We would not have thought as much if it were not for the fact Connecticut does not have a lot of players who can point to last year as when they were tested. The Huskies, after all, lost their top six scorers from last year’s team, including four that were taken in the first round of the NBA draft.
WVU head coach John Beilein is 20-0 at WVU in December home games. Home court advantage fades as the year goes on, but these are the perfect circumstances where it will prove huge.
