LONG BEACH STATE -6 Pepperdine
The Long Beach State men’s basketball team will play its first home game in a day short of three weeks. They will get an additional lift tonight. Senior guard Kejuan Johnson missed three games after his broken nose was set on Nov. 27 but is expected to return to action tonight.
The Waves are playing with a roster that includes just eight scholarship players after sophomores Mike Gerrity and Chris Oakes quit, and Jason Walberg (who transferred from Saint Mary’s to play for his father as a senior) suffered torn knee ligaments last week.
Long Beach will be better for the wear having played just one home game, four road, including USC, UCLA and Temple and two neutral contests.
