NBA Betting – Friday Night Preview

NBA Betting – Friday Night Preview

While most people are focused NCAA basketball betting and NCAA march madness 2010 right now, we have a good slate of NBA action on Friday. Here is a preview of a couple of those contests:

Los Angeles Clippers @ Charlotte Bobcats

The Los Angeles Clippers have – once again – been a complete train wreck this season. That's hasn't surprised anyone. What did surprise fans recently though was the firing of general manager Mike Dunleavy.

The Clippers were struggling this year and clearly missed No. 1 overall pick Blake Griffin, who has missed the entire season. Dunleavy first stepped aside as the team's head coach, but then was recently fired as general manager behind his back. He found out via e-mails from the media and was caught off-guard.

Believe it or not, the Clippers were at one point 19-22 but since then, they have won just six of their last 24 games.

On Thursday, they'll face the Charlotte Bobcats, who will look to take advantage of their struggles. The Bobcats are a good young up-and-coming team and they are one of the better defensive teams in the NBA. With the Clippers on the road facing a stingy team, don't expect them to win.

March Madness Betting Pick: Bobcats

New Jersey Nets @ Oklahoma City Thunder

The New Jersey Nets are no longer on pace to finish as the worst team in NBA history, but they still need at least one more win to ensure that doesn't happen.

The Nets are currently 7-57 on the year and have lost two straight games, but by their standards, they are actually playing fairly well recently. The Nets had just three wins in their first 43 games but since then, have four wins in their last 21. Overall, that's not too shabby for them.

They won't get a win on Friday as they face the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder have grown into one of the better teams in the Western Conference and unlike the Nets, they haven't done much losing recently.

The Thunder have won 14 of their last 17 games and are just 3.5 games behind the Denver Nuggets for the second-place seed in the West.

This isn't going to be a very even matchup. The Thunder are going to pound the Nets into the ground in a relatively easy win as they continue their ascent and the Nets will have to avoid history another day.

Pick: Thunder
