March Madness picks doesn't just have to be about college basketball; there's plenty of action going on with NBA odds, too. On Monday, the New Orleans Hornets host the Dallas Mavericks while the Chicago Bulls host the Houston Rockets topping the NBA spread.
Dallas Mavericks at New Orleans Hornets – 8:00 p.m. ET
The Mavericks (46-23, 28-40-1 ATS) have cooled after a 13-game winning streak. Dallas has dropped two of three, including a 102-93 loss to the Boston Celtics on Saturday. It continued a tough run at the sportsbook, as the Mavs have dropped four consecutive games on college basketball odds. Dallas is just 3-6-1 ATS in its last 10 games. Perhaps the road will do the team some good, though; Dallas is 5-0 against the spread in its last five games away from home.
New Orleans (33-38, 32-38-1 ATS) has lost three straight games and is just 2-12 in its last 14 games. The Hornets haven't been any better against the spread, going 2-2 in their past four games. Worse yet, those two wins were the only two times the Hornets have covered in their past 10 games against the point spread. Playing at home probably won't make much of a difference, either; New Orleans has lost four straight games at home.
Dallas has won two straight games against New Orleans, and there's no doubt the Mavericks are playing much better at the sportsbooks Bet on Dallas.
Pick: Dallas
Houston Rockets at Chicago Bulls – 8:00 p.m. ET
Houston (36-32, 31-36 ATS) is on a roll; the Rockets have won five of their past six games, including a 116-112 win over the Knicks on Sunday. Houston covered the three-point spread, which improved it to 3-1 ATS in its past four games at the sportsbook. The Rockets have struggled to get the job done at home, however; they've covered just four of their past 10 home games on college basketball odds.
Chicago (32-37, 34-33-2 ATS) ended a horrendous 10-game winning streak by getting past Philadelphia 94-84 on Saturday. Oddly, the Bulls have been solid at the sportsbook. Although they're just 4-6 in their past 10 games against the spread, they've actually won four straight on college basketball odds. Playing at home could pose some problems, though—the Bulls are 1-4 in their past five games against the spread in Chicago.
The Bulls have won and covered their past two meetings with Housotn and maybe turned a corner after ending their losing streak, but Houston is clearly the better team.
